John Rosatti -- An American Achievements Record

Brought up in New York City in working class he was able to rise above and become a very successful business man and truly live the American dream.

The Formative Years

John Rosatti was born and raised in Brooklyn, his parents held blue collar positions. From a young age he learned the value of hard work and dedication. He was thought to be quite intelligent for a child, and just like other Italian children within his neighbourhood he attended Catholic Church and schools. These years proved to be very formative as it is where he first developed his keen understanding of the world around him.

Early Influences

Growing up John enjoyed large Italian family dinners. In true Italian fashion they would routinely discuss wonderful stories while at the same time partaking in a delicious home cooked meal. John’s Grandfather John Adam Basset, a decorated Naval Officer had a big influence on his life. Basset served courageously in World War II and is even commemorated in the book, “Force Mulberry: The Planning and Installation of the Artificial Harbor of U.S. Normandy Beaches in WWII” produced by Whitehead Press. John Basset, formerly Rosatti, it was changed to avoid discrimination had a huge impact on John Rosatti especially in instilling notions of hard work and ethics.

Work Ethic

From a young age John knew the value of hard work. He worked with his hands when he was younger as he and his father worked together on local boat docks. While working he acquired a mechanical skill set, this lead him to a successful career in the car industry. By the age of 21 he was married to his first wife Joann. He opened his first of many car dealerships. This turned out to be a very successful route for him as he went on to be named as a top 100 dealership many times by Ward’s automotive. John successfully developed a group f dealerships at the Plaza Auto Mall. This allowed him to further expand his dealerships to New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

Tragedy

After 18 years of marriage, John and Joann made the mutual decision to get a divorce. However, the two remain friends to this day. After a few more years of hard work expanding his empire, John met and married his second wife, Bonni. They were married on the island of St. Thomas, surrounded by friends and family, and moved to Brooklyn to start a family. They had three children together, who grew up attending church and Catholic schools in the Brooklyn area. In 1997, John lost his father in a horrible car accident. Three years later, John also lost his beloved wife, Bonni, to a serious car accident. Left with three young children to care for, John began spending more time at home raising the kids, while also running his many business ventures.

After much consideration John decided to move his family to South Florida. He threw himself into his work and business ventures. Today he can now enjoy his hard work and dedication with his family and his newfound dedicated girlfriend Dawn. Despite tragedy John has lived a full and adventurous life. He is truly the American dream, proving that hard work, dedication, and perseverance can reign over tragedy. He is a man who should be admired not only for his business pursuits and flare, but also for his fortitude. John Rosatti
