A 18 PULGADAS DEL CIELO
La mayoría de los accidentes pudieran ser evitados por unas pocas pulgadas. Si el carro se hubiera movido tan sólo una pulgadas, o la bala se hubiera desviado una pulgadas, el accidente no hubiera ocurrido. ¿Sabe usted, amigo lector, que hay millones de personas que están a 18 pulgadas de la salvación? Estas 18 pulgadas parecen poca distancia, pero mantienen a muchas personas lejos de la salvación y a 18 pulgadas de la condenación. ¿A qué me refiero con estas 18 pulgadas? Si le preguntamos a un doctor cual es la distancia promedio entre el cerebro y el corazón, probablemente le dirá que es 18 pulgadas. Muchas personas piensan que con creer en Jesús intelectualmente serán salvos. Desafortunadamente, la fe intelectual por sí sola no salva a nadie a menos que no tengamos la convicción en nuestro corazón que resulta en obras obedientes. Hay mucha gente que tiene a Jesús en su mente, pero no en su corazón. La Biblia nos advierte acerca de este error en Santiago 2:14-26 “Hermanos míos, si alguno dice que tiene fe y no tiene obras, ¿de qué sirve? ¿Puede acaso su fe salvarle? Si un hermano o una hermana están desnudos y les falta la comida diaria, y alguno de vosotros les dice: "Id en paz, calentaos y saciaos", pero no les da lo necesario para el cuerpo, ¿de qué sirve? Así también la fe, si no tiene obras, está muerta en sí misma. Sin embargo, alguno dirá: "Tú tienes fe, y yo tengo obras." ¡Muéstrame tu fe sin tus obras, y yo te mostraré mi fe por mis obras! Tú crees que Dios es uno. Bien haces. También los demonios creen y tiemblan... Porque tal como el cuerpo sin el espíritu está muerto, así también la fe sin obras está muerta.” Como vemos aquí, tener una creencia en nuestra mente sin la obediencia en inútil. Creer en Jesús es una cosa, pero cuando estamos convencidos en nuestro corazón entonces responderemos con la obediencia a sus mandamientos. Es esa la fe que salva. ¿Tienes a Cristo en la mente , pero no en el corazón? Most accidents could be avoided by a few inches. If the car would have moved just a few inches the accident would not have happened. If the bullet would have landed just a few inches off then the tragedy would not have happened. ¿Do you know, my friend, that there are millions of people 18 inches away from salvation? These 18 inches seem like a short distance. However, they keep many people far away from salvation and 18 inches from condemnation. What am I referring to with these 18 inches? If you ask a doctor what is the distance between the human brain and the heart, the doctor will most likely tell you 18 inches. Many people believe that an intellectual belief in Jesus will save them. Unfortunately, intellectual faith by itself can not save anyone unless it is accompanied by a conviction of the heart that will result in obedient works. There are many who have Jesus in their minds, but not in their hearts. The Bible warns us against this in James 2:14-26 “What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-- and shudder…As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. It is clear from this passage that having a belief in your mind without obedience is useless. Believing in Jesus is one thing, but we will only respond with obedience to His commandments when we have a conviction in our hearts. That is the faith that saves. Do you have Jesus in your mind, but not in your heart?
