KAGUYA (SELENE) Image Taking of Earth-Rise/Earth-Set by HDTV

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) have successfully performed the world's first high-definition image taking of an Earth-rise* by the lunar explorer "KAGUYA" (SELENE,) which was injected into a lunar orbit at an altitude of about 100 km on October 18, 2007 (Japan Standard Time. Following times and dates are all JST.)

Pictures of The Total Lunar Eclipse, On Aug 28. 2007

,

On August 28. 2007, there was the dark red lunar in the sky. Many astronomical observatories and astronomy enthusiasts took a lot of photographs of the lunar and published it now.
The image below is the total lunar eclipse in Japan.

The image below is a photographic strip of the total lunar eclips which was posted in "Astronomy Picture of The Day", one of the NASA's contents.

New Saturn's Ring

,

This photograph is the new Saturn's ring which was discovered by Cassini.
These rings tentatively was named "R/2006 S 1"~"R/2006 S 4".

In the photo above, "Janus/Epim. Ring" is "R/2006 S 1". "Pallene Ring" is "R/2006 S 2".

Among the 2 rings written as "New Ringlets" in the photo above, the right is "R/2006 S 3" and the left is "R/2006 S 4".

土星探査衛星カッシーニが新しい土星の環を4つ発見しました。これらの環は、"R/2006 S 1"~"R/2006 S 4"と名付けられています。
上の写真で、Janus/Epim. Ring とされているのが "R/2006 S 1"。Pallene Ring とされているのが R/2006 S 2 です。

Anticrepuscular Rays

,

From "Astronomy Picture of the Day"
NASAの”Astronomy Picture of the Day”より

What's happening over the horizon? Although the scene may appear somehow supernatural, nothing more unusual is occurring than a setting Sun and some well placed clouds. Strangely, the actual sunset was occurring in the opposite direction from where the camera was pointing. Pictured above are anticrepuscular rays. To understand them, start by picturing common crepuscular rays that are seen any time that sunlight pours though scattered clouds. Now although sunlight indeed travels along straight lines, the projections of these lines onto the spherical sky are great circles. Therefore, the crepuscular rays from a setting (or rising) sun will appear to re-converge on the other side of the sky. At the anti-solar point 180 degrees around from the Sun, they are referred to as anticrepuscular rays.

Yesterday, I could log in Opera Community, however I couldn't post my new article.
When I clicked "Add New Post" button, Server Monkey suddenly emerged from somewhere.

4D Digital Space Viewer

, ,

4D is an attractive word for me.
4D astronomical software called "Mitaka" is created and distributed by National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.
"Mitaka" is a free software for personal use.
This is the most magnificent astronomical software in the world.
4D means 3D that the user can operate.
This software includes some features, Planetarium Mode, Space Mode and other features.
In Space Mode, we can travel the solar system and we can land to one of planets.
If you can switch Planetarium Mode here, you can see a lot of stars from your landed planet.
You can also explore to utmost end of the Universe.
I want you to enjoy this software made from the latest result of astronomy.
