Down the memory lane - my 80's music

, ,

Hi, how was your day?

Sara's blog probably set my mind back to 80's, a seemingly meaningless phrase that I heard long time ago started playing at the back of my head like a mantra - hot dog, jumping frog, Albuquerque... Then standing on a packed train this evening glancing vacantly at a woman whose features looked like Jamie lee Curtis's suddenly reminded me of Julian Cope...

I thought I need to gt this out of system...

新年明けましておめでとうございます!

Hi. Finally it's 2007. Did you have a nice holiday?

In the UK, this year's firework display (video thanks to dand1977) was better than ever!! We were eating soba (Japanese buckwheat noodle) while watching the display on BBC, but it lasted on and on...Here is a picture my son took over the tv. Just amazing set of colours.

Wishing you a very happy new year!!

Hi. In a little less than 5 minutes, it will be 2007 in Japan.
As usual, we will be celebrating a new year twice, in Tokyo time and UK time.
My family in Japan is probably enjoying year end programmes, so we will catch up with Skype later... I haven't decided which year-end programmes to watch yet, Little Britain? Jules Holland? I would probably be listening to Masaharu Fukuyama's CD (Christmas present to myself) again. :D

I couldn't find proper pen, so used crayons...aaaaghrrr looks very childish...sorry :o:
Thanks for your support. Happy New year to you all!

2007年が皆様にとり素晴らしい年になりますように!

Hi.

Sorry that I haven't responded early enough, but it seems I am stopping the progress of the latest Opera 'tagging' game. Thanks Aya , Marcus and Hippo for tagging me... I am flattered.

Five unknown facts about myself.

1. When I was very small, I unscrewed all the screws in a vacuum cleaner and upset my mother. p:

2. When I was about 7 years old, I wanted to be a scientist. I was into experimenting and making portions. Other professions I longed to be are fashion designers, drama writer and architect.

3. When I was very young, me and another friend buried a snail, expecting it would be a fossil in months, not years.Homer: Doh!

4. When I was about 12 years old, I was one of the fastest runners in the city.

5. When I was about 13 years old, a boy in my class visited my house and gave me a set of glass flowers in a big display box. My mother still has it on display, after all these years.

Now I am tagging...

BOZ ...for being a great DJ
Offspring ..for I love his photographs
Elmar ...for he knows a great deal about art
Fred ...for being a great designer
Hao ...for being a great designer

Hope my curiosity won't kill a cat.

PS: Thanks Dario and Marcus for birthday wishes. Ulie made me a lovely heart-shaped cake.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy New year!!

Christmas Market in London

, ,

Hi. On the weekend I went to get some secret Santa presents in London.

Here is some of the photographs I took - sorry about the quality as I didn't know how to adjust white. I added some in my 365 album too.

I read from a friend's blog that there is a market open in the grounds of Natural History Museum. On the day I went the chocolate company Lindt had a special Santa's grotto, as well as chocolate serving stand, so all the more merrier. I saw a reindeer first time in my life. Parents were eager to take the photo of their children with raindeers and a sleigh, but some young ones started crying....Must be really scary is you are 2 years old...

Weekly selection

Hi - Finally holiday cover is over and am in better shape mentally. (I might have gained a bit of weight, as I tend to over-eat when I am stressed).

I don't mind being busy at work as I like what I do. It is a lot healthier than having to kill time looking at the screen. It also get adrenaline flowing. The only snag is that I do not have the freedom to extend my working hours into evenings as I cannot run the house otherwise, I had to simply increase my productivity. Once I get into this mode, I tend to be more egocentric and let my fingers do the talking.

Christmas in the summer

, ,

Hi. The weather was terrible today, gusty winds and drizzle on and off all day. I needed to have emergency work done to our roof as it started to leak. It is not nice to worry about roof of all things. Past week I have seen a lot of snow visiting friends' blog in Canada and Greenland, so today I escaped to sunny climate in Australia! It is a wonder of My Opera world -you have a whole world under one roof! You can travel to wherever you like without leaving your living room. So if you are fed up with the cold, just look at Rice's blog, she seems to be enjoying wonderful weather. It looks really warm in Merbourne. Also you can find wonderful photographs in Australiani's blog, too. With the pictures on memory I read Nori san's blog, where I found some cool dancing tunes...
