The Month of March
Thursday, February 28, 2013 10:32:40 PM
March is finally here which means Spring is just around the corner! This is my favorite time of year when birds are making their nest to bring forth new life, the smell of dirt when you start weeding out flower beds. Yes I said the smell of dirt, call me strange but I love the smell of dirt in the spring time.
When I started doing research on March I was amazed to find every day through the month March had some sort of holiday or celebration attached to it. Did you know March 1st is Peanut Butter day, and the first Friday of March was National Salesperson Day?
I did not know this! There is also National Frozen Food Day…..it’s on March 6th.
Needless to say I read through the whole article and couldn’t help but laugh at some of the holidays. I mean come on “Worship of Tools Day”?
Is there somebody sitting at a desk just making this stuff up because they have nothing better to do?
I know many days were named in recognition, such Panic Day which is March 9th. I can relate to Panic Day because I have Panic and Anxiety attacks.
But have we gone too far when we start having such days as “Ear Muff Day”?
I think so, but that’s just me.
Here I have included a list of all the days in the Month of March and the holidays that go with it.
1 Peanut Butter Lovers' Day
2 Old Stuff Day
3 If Pets Had Thumbs Day
3 National Anthem Day
4 Hug a GI Day
5 Multiple Personality Day
6 National Frozen Food Day
7 National Crown Roast of Pork Day
8 International (Working) Women's Day
9 Panic Day
10 Middle Name Pride
11 Worship of Tools Day - guys, you can relate
12 Girl Scouts Day
13 Ear Muff Day
14 National Potato Chip Day
15 Everything You Think is Wrong Day
16 National Quilting Day - third Saturday of month
17 Saint Patrick's Day

22 National Goof Off Day

24 National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day
25 Pecan Day
26 Make Up Your Own Holiday Day
27 National "Joe" Day
If you will notice the list did not include the last three days of the month. And I wonder if it’s based on the old legend that March borrowed three days from April, so they are only borrowed days? Interesting.
I also included the whole month celebrations:
Irish American Month
Music in Our Schools Month
National Craft Month
National Frozen Food Month
National Irish American Heritage Month- designated by Congress in 1995.
National Nutrition Month
National Peanut Month
National Women's History Month
