How to get a credit score Credit Rating and Credit Scores Related

, , ,

Paying cash for everything is not always going to work out to be the best scenario for all people. What happens is amazing, but if you have a good job, and a history of no credit cards, it is almost impossible for some people to get a home loan or even a car loan.

Every person has a credit rating, and this is all tied to what you have in life. Having a little debt and paying it off in a responsible, timely manner is going to give you a credit score. There are three major reporting credit companies, and everyone from the electric company, the phone company, and the credit lenders report to the credit agencies.

Credit Bureaus Think They Know it All

The credit bureaus gather information from all types of sources, banks, credit cards, educational loans, utilities, doctors offices, and just about anywhere that credit card or loans are in place. If you have been paying cash for everything and have never had a loan it can be difficult to make a major purchase without some type of credit history.

Without Even Knowing it You are Building Credit

There are times in your life you are going to build credit and not even realize it. You could be building credit by getting a phone in your name. Living on your own and getting utilities in your name also is going to help you build some type of credit. Purchasing from retail outlets on their credit terms, such as buying furniture on the 90 days same as cash programs can also help you build a small amount of credit. Using your debit card online to purchase items is not going to help you build credit because it is not really a credit card, but the same as taking cash and purchasing an item.

You Could Get a Credit Card Anywhere

Yes it can be difficult to talk yourself into getting a credit card when you don't want to use it, but that is going to help you build some type of credit as well. The credit bureaus are going to see you have a credit card, making your payments on time; all the time is going to build credit. Available credit is how much of your credit line that you have and don't use. So if you have a $10,000 credit card and the most you have ever used it is for $700 you show that you are responsible with your money and you don't over use your credit lines.

Credit Card Offers in the Mail

Once you have obtained one credit card, you will find you will be given more and more credit offers in the mail. By the way credit card debt will impact credit ratings. As you get more and more offers, you will know you are building credit, because the credit offers come from companies that are checking who has credit and who is responsible for their money. It doesn't mean that you should apply for every credit card offer you get, but just having one card with a large line is going to help you build your credit with a good credit score with the credit bureau so when you want to purchase a house or a car you will have no problems at all.
