Dilemmas

In which I agonise needlessly over a Friday decision...
But first some good news. And before that, some background.
(My, I do like stretching a story out don't I?)
Last week, I found out that a letter of intent I'd put in was booted up to the next level of competition. This means that the competition becomes harder, and the application itself becomes more difficult to complete. It all came down to getting letters from the right people.
Bossman was being all optimistic, but when he said "feck" after hearing I'd been pushed into the
Then we got this e-mail:

...happy to write..., he said.
...do everything he can..., he said.
...neeed [my] help..., he said.
...build a critical mass..., he said.
Why, I feel like Sally Field winning the Oscar all over again.
I feel like I'm in love all of a sudden, although that bit about critical mass, you don't think Dr. FB is saying I'm fat do you?
(Into each life, must a little rain fall, a thorn in every rose etc, etc, etc.)
I have today off, but am not going to use it for the original purpose for which I took it off. So...I could go into work and bank the day for later. Or I could just take it off completely (the day that is) and clean up around the house, paint the wall, put the garden to bed etc. etc. etc. Or I could (since I have my work laptop) head down to a cafe, get a good coffee and work a bit and have the best of both worlds - be out of work, and bank the day off. Or would that be having your cake and eating it too?
Maybe, since it's a sunny day and looks like it could be warm, I'll just go for a relaxing, shake the cobwebs out of the head, run and take in the day, smell the roses etc etc.
The options. The options. The options. Ah. I think I'll just have a second coffee first.
WAIT! Did I just hear the trap door shut?!
Oooh yes. Squirrel # 2 is now in the trap. Ha. That'll teach the little buggers to come and dig around in my pots. I'll have to take the little critter somewhere to dispose of it. Oh relax, I'm not going to kill it (even though bossman said it's the best thing to do). Just take it far, far, far away like maybe West Vancouver....
Ah. The day, he is going well. Dr. FB loves me, I love Dr. FB, so nice being in a lovefest. And even better, I've caught squirrel number 2 of 3 who've been plaguing the deck.
Special for Spooksister (bike picture to come later).

younglady! I'm not in downtown, I'm in Kits, practically at Point Grey! Your property values would only increase with a few Kits Squirrels running around looking cute.San # 27. October 2007, 13:49

When we had our own garden with 2 big walnut trees, there always were a few of squirrels. I enjoyed to watch these little cute animals.
