In which I am almost driven to driving needles through things...or am I?
So. Computer problems at home (so sad).
Computer problems at owrk - but fortunately resolved by KH
Computer problems with million dollar machine. Hrumph. Have to purchase a computer, but can anyone tell me what model or specification? Of course not. Not even the vendor of the software can tell me that. How weird is that? How stupid? how inefficient?
Hrumph.
BUT.
I did do a quick search for computers just in case I have to replace the one at home (poor thing). PJ has been pushing a Mac on me with glazed over eyes (PJ's eyes, that is, not the computer).
"A Mac!", he said to me, smiling strangely with his eyes blazing with almost religious fervour, "You should make the change and go for a Mac! Slim! Fast! White!"
"Expensive...", I said.
But he cut me off, "Yes! Exactly! You can help start teh economy as well! How good is that?! Killing two birds with a stone!"
I'm not so convinced. Anyway, I had a look around and look what I found...HP has a laptop model out called the Voodoo Envy - doesn't the name itself make you want one? It's so sleek, so smooth, so fast and so powerful looking. Why rather like me on a good day when I've exfoliated and moisturized, and the light is shining just right on me.
So whaddya think? Voodoo or boring old Mac?
Hmmm?

VoodooDan from HP here. Great to hear that you are considering the Envy. Laptop Magazine recently examined the same dilemma that you are currently facing - http://blog.laptopmag.com/voodoo-envy-133-mini-review-air-killer.
The Envy’s design and carbon fiber casing features a micro-weave design, and this provides a unique texture to the laptop. In addition to its aesthetic features, the Envy also offers two USB ports – one of which doubles as eSATA that can be used to connect to an optical drive. Additionally, the Voodoo IO (Instant On Solution) allows owners to connect to the web or Skype within ten seconds of turning it on.
Let me know if you have any questions about the Envy, as I’d be happy to help.

However, before you go down the Mac route you should ask yourself if you're prepared for an OS that is just different enough from Windows to be really annoying until you get used to it.
