Hungry Ghost's Daily Diet (TM)

July 1 2009. One starts over - by firing two people. Yes!

A quickie

, ,

In which furtive is the state of mind still...

Yup. Still have problems with Solo II at home. He's not well, he isn't. Pore thing.

Despite FORMATTING (The Horror! The Horror!) the hard drive and setting everything to factory settings again. Formatting hard drives - very traumatic if you've never done it.

And still! Getting errors. Grrrr.

For about an hour, it looked like all would be fine, and I was already mentally spending the money I'd save in not buying a new CPU. But now, I rather fear that all you lovely readers will be getting coal in your stockings.

Never mind. There were some compensations yesterday.

For I played hooky (well, actually have to start using up my 2008 vacation or forever lose it) yesterday and went to see for myself, but with MB accompanying in case I swooned, just how dour Mr. Craig was in Quantum of Solace. MB did lay some conditions down on this outing though, "No SQUEALING! Nothing weird like that!", he said gesticulating forcefully in my face with his long, tapered fingers (LTFs).

And Lo, he was dour. But he did have a big smile on his face when he was running his pendulous lower lip up Strawberry Field's back. From which one scene, one can only surmise that Mr. Craig, as Bond, is only really happy when nekkid. And nothing wrong with thath I'm sure.

The story itself wasn't bad, quite engaging, but not as much as Mr. Craig himself, the action scenes were a bit chaotic, although the one where he battles Mitchell when both are strung up by their ankles on ropes and whirling around shards of broken glass and pointed iron bars was quite beautiful. Not perhaps as beautiful or as graceful as Michelle Yeoh in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but then again, Mr. Craig has certain attributes that Ms. Yeoh could never have.

MB was kind enough to not disparage Mr. Craig, but he still remains steadfastly loyal to Mr. Bale, another dour-looking one. Unfortunately, one couldn't judge whether Mr. Bale is happier when nekkid as he quite frankly, and most disappointingly did not undress in the Dark Knight.

Bottomline, when it comes to skin, Mr. Craig wins over Mr. Bale, sorry MB, but there it is - even if it's pretty bruised, and scratched up at times.

And no, there was no squealing on my part despite MB's fears that I would at the sight of Mr. Craig.

In short, where Mr. Craig is concerned in Quantum of Solace,

PWOARH!

Ahem.

Thanksgiving in the US yesterday, belated greetings sent to those of you reading from there.

Finally - A trip to Dallas is in the offering where apparently I shall be staying at the Stoneleigh Hotel and Spa, pictured to the right. It looks very chi-chi. The trip to Dallas will also give me a chance to connect with a long-lost cousin, HKBS, who has offered to show me around, "Wahhh! Sure to be hiaw one! Be v. afraid!", Cuz in Oz, was overheard to say.

On the other hand, PJ, when he heard about this trip, said succintcly and clipped H'english tones, "Cut your hair! Go to the Gay Country and Western Bars!"

Okay. Well, so far, one out of two isn't bad.

And finally! Semalam, actually se minggu lepas, I received the Sean Ghazi CD that JBH promised to send me back in August. Worth the wait. Such a wonderful CD. Mr. Ghazi has quite the mellifluous voice (good word eh? eh? eh?TM". He's apparently also appeared on the West End in London, who knew. Needless to say, I've been obsessively listening to the CD - a mix of P. Ramlee songs remade in the 1940's mode with a few extras thrown in - including one from Pink Martini. So eclectic, but above all, smooth.

Thank you so very much JBH! You're a gem in the shape of a pineapple - prickly and sweet!
