International Chicanery

In which we, the taxpayer, have finally stopped paying for the house arrest of Mr. Saxena...

Rakesh Saxena: "...an Indian businessman, traveling on the passport of a dead Serb, awaiting extradition from Canada for alleged embezzlement from a bank in Thailand."

His plan was to finance a coup in Sierra Leone so he could install a friendly president who could secure bauxite and diamond mines, if Mr. Saxena stumped up $10 million.

The scam involving the Serb passport was rumbled by Canadian Police, and Britain's Parliament investigated the 1997 coup plot. The then foreign secretary, Robin Cook, called the plan "quite mind-boggling"

Ah. International finance. So murky these days.

I feel humbled by Mr. Saxena's efforts. My feeble attempt at international finance only reaches out to the Standard Charted Bank owing me Rm$50.00, which I've still to collect. I'm 'm sure, however, that with the fees they charge for maintaining such files, I probably owe them by now.

Dr. J failed to stop me today. Damn him.

Domestic Chicanery:

"Say a little prayer for me..." can't get this song out of my head nor the vision of a soft belly undulating while following the choreography of Quinn and her friends. Too delightful.

Speaking of which. Dr. J was filled with delight. Such a lovely image. "I was delighted!", he cooed.

So it appears that equilibrium has been reached, perhaps indifference, but really, they're just two sides of the same coin. Now to work on forgetting and once forgetting is achieved, can forgiveness be far behind? Oh wait. If you forget, there's no need to forgive...I rather fear I shan't get very far with such cynicism.

Fed the worms today. That leaves a warm feeling in me.

Who knew that Safeway would have such fresh fruit this time of the year?

And finally, for tonight anyway, a glass of water then to bed for tomorrow promises to be long and filled with arguments.

10 million to fund a coup. That seems quite reasonable.

Yes..although I'm kind of shifting towards the Samsung Impact now...

except that in 2010, there'll probably be more models released.

What to do, what to do? How to keep up? How to keep up?

You can't, there's always the next big thing coming. My strategy, buy the best you can and run it into the ground.
