Fat People, Complaint, Abe Vigoda, NHL

It has been a long time, hasn't it? It has been over a week. I am sure you have been going crazy without my guidance. Well, in this time, I have discovered a new pet peeve of mine. I can safely say that I cannot stand sitting in a chair after a large person has sat in it. The chair is all warm from them and that creeps me out. I don't know why, maybe I have a phobia of this. I sort of feel bad about this but then I think, 'Hey! Wait! I've got a new complaint!' (Yes, I am listening to 'Heart Shaped Box' by '
Nirvana' right now). I do have a new complaint though, people sitting in chair with their feet all up on it then I have to sit in it. The joys of high school! Look, I don't want you have on your foot on my clothing or body whatsoever. Please, keep your stuff to yourself.
I also want to take this time to spotlight how much better the NHL Playoffs have been than the NBA Playoffs. The NHL games seem to be much closer, many going into overtime. The NBA isn't bringing that to the table. All they are bringing is selfish players to the table. The NHL on the other hand is bringing overtimes, toughness, physical play, beards, and TWINS! If you don't belive me on the twins head over to the Vancouver Canucks website and read up on the Sedin twins. Swedish twins are always the best.
I have to talk about 'Entourage' as well. The show had another good episode if you ask me. First off, we got to see the chunk of sexy as we know it, Artie Lange. Nothing too crazy happened on the episode, but it was just one to make you laugh. I think the one thing the show should do is have a cameo for Abe Vigoda, just to make the show that much better. Just imagine Jeremy Piven and Abe Vigoda on the same HD screen. I understand if you just screamed because I did as well.
Finally, I must say that I am pretty confused about a product I saw on TV the other day. The product is a computer program which you can use to make 3-Dimensional drawings of buildings, mainly your home. The one thing you can do with the product, quoting the commercial, "You can make your home with the software and take a virtual tour!" What? Do you not take a tour of a 3D version of your house, I don't know, everytime you are in your house? I really want to know the person who let this commercial go on the air. Is American TV really this bad? If I was living in the 'Roaring Twenties', I would probably spit at the disgustingness of that ad.
One last thing: Aren't Taliban terrorists roasting in the clothing that covers their head and entire body in that Middle-East heat? (I am so opening a night club caled 'Middle-East Heat' in the Gaza Strip.)

Piano Rock, Dead Series, Ben Folds, Spike Lee

The other day, while I was watching ESPNEWS when they had a female golfer on the show. Before they went to commercial break, they had the camera directly on her. It remained on her for a couple of seconds. She was smiling, but it wasn't a true smile. It was the forced smile. You can tell from the eyes (eyes are the key to everything). The look in her eyes totally said "I don't want to have this camera on me. I really want a hot pocket and some jelly beans". It is an awkward situation for me, the precious viewer. It annoys me when people do that, but I myself am very guilty. I think we all are. It is just something that we all do, like breathe or cartwheels in the rain.
I also want to talk about this song I heard a little while ago. It is a song by the band 'Sprites' titled 'George Romero'. The songs gets its name from director/writer best known for his 'Dead Series' of films 'Night of the Living Dead', 'Dawn of the Dead', 'Day of the Dead', 'Land of the Dead', and the upcoming 'Diary of the Dead'. The song talks about how they would want to live in a mall like the characters do in the movie 'Dawn of the Dead'. The song just has a catch tune that will stay with you (like referencing Abe Vigoda in every post will stay with me). Here is a link to the song

sprites.org.ukAnother song I want to talk about is the 'Ben Folds' cover of the 'Dr. Dre' song 'B*tches Ain't Sh*t'. It is really fun to hear a piano with a soft voice sing those lyrics. I laugh and then stop in amazement of the vulgar lyrics in this form. This song really has put what rappers are trying to say. I wish that Ben Folds would introduce more covers of rap songs to the world to help me understand the messages of rappers. On a completely different note I did hear an acoustic cover of 'Hey Ya' by 'Outkast'. That was cool since I really dig acoustic songs.
Finally, I have a bone to pick with a Mr. Spike Lee. I was flipping around on TV the other day when I see the movie 'Summer of Sam' was on. I am sitting there thinking I was going to get a movie about the 'Son of Sam' killer David Berkowitz. The film, although it did have some 'Son of Sam' in it, was mainly about the summer of '77 in an Italian area of the Bronx. I am not saying it was a bad film, but the title is very misleading. Instead of a straight film about the murderer, I get a story of befriending those around you, the heat of '77, people changing, and the New York Yankees run to the World Series (the year Reggie Jackson hit three homeruns in one World Series game). Anyway, I just feel Spike Lee lied to me. I don't need a national apology, just a little something that says 'My Bad - Spike', maybe a box of Trix yogurt would do.

Entourage, Abe Vigoda, Segway, HBO

Now that the NHL playoffs are upon us, we are getting into the better part of it. We are begining to see who are the contenders and who are the pretenders. The players all want this Cup bad and do anything it takes, wheter it means diving for that loose puck or just straight up fighting your opponent. That is what I love about the playoffs. The players do anything they need to get that Cup. They will play hurt, put it all on the line, just to win.
Also, I've discovered an old friend. Since the weather decieded to suck today, I didn't have to go to school. I caught up on some 'Saturday Night Live' videos. I came across a set of videos I really enjoy. They are about this couple who are trying to get a good or service and are just straight rude. The sketches are titled "Two A-Holes...". They are just so stupid and rude it is funny. (Two A-Holes At An Adoption Agency)Maybe I just like this video so much because the amazing Jeremy Piven is in it.Speaking of the awesomeness of Jeremy Piven, this past week's episode of 'Entourage' was quite good. I can easily say it was better than the first episode of the season. You have to love Ari Gold having lunch with Lloyd and a gay television writer. Sadly, this show is only a half hour long, but 'The Sopranos' can be an hour long. Basically in episodes of 'The Sopranos' they stretch out something that can be said in half of an hour to an hour. I say we take control of that half hour and give it to either 'Entourage' or an Abe Vigoda variety show where he plays jokes on people about him dying. The show could either be called 'Abe'd' or possibly 'The Puppy Hour'.
Finally, one last thing. After 'Entourage' last night they had a show about the events leading up the the fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in boxing. Well, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was hanging out with rapper '50 Cent'. I may have seen one of the funniest things from a rapper. Be prepared for this. 50 Cent was riding on a Segway. For those of you who don't remember what they were they were a scooter like device used by those who have given up on walking. Now up to this point I've never seen anyone ride one of these except for a stereotypical rich nerd if you will. I guess this is the new thing for rappers from the street to do. I just found it hilarious. He would say something, then ride off on his Segway. Another good laugh from the rap community.P.S. - I am angry at 'The Sopranos' for having a 'Making Of' of a movie they made in the show. It is pointless and wastes HBO programming with crap. Again, Abe Vigoda would fit the bill.

Fratellis, 300, NHL, Costello Music

It was awesome. You know what I am talking about. Not all of the Don Imus stuff, but the amazing NHL playoff games yesterday. It once again proves my point that hockey is awesome. I feel I have to show the world that. Back to the point, their where two games that saw overtime action. The first saw a double overtime affair. The best though saw the game hit four overtimes. You just can't beat that people. I suggest you all watch the rest of the games during these playoffs (I was going to demand you to but then it would sound like we were in a cult. I had to mention the cult because I saw it on a 'Strangers With Candy' episode today).
Also, I want to commend the guys behind 'South Park'. The episode that aired last night (D-Yikes!) was just great. It mainly parodied the movie '300'. That alone I thought was funny but Ms. Garrison becoming a lesbian was just amazing. I don't know where these guys think of some of these things but it is funny. Plus everyone using the 'day laborers' to do their work was pretty funny. It wasn't the best episode from this season, but it was good. Scissor me timbers! (I just had to.)
I also want to give one last highlight to Scottish rock band 'The Fratellis'. I got their album 'Costello Music' after hearing them perform in the one IPod commercial (the song was 'Flathead'). I didn't think I would keep it in my mp3 player long but it has remained there. The songs just seem to get stuck in my head. I think my favorite is 'Vince The Lovable Stoner'. It is a pretty dumb song but yet I am really into it. I have to say though, this rock from other countries seems to keep me more intersted than most of the new stuff that surfaces here in America (where we're awesome). Another band that got me interested was 'Mando Diao' out of Sweden. I am thinking the different sound just amazes me, or maybe most new music is crap in America. That is another argument though that I don't care to have because it is playoff hockey time! Abe Vigoda for life. (I will mention him in every post now.) Poor guy. Many people think he is dead.

Abe Vigoda, Canadians, Entourage, Easter

Well, it has been an interesting few days since my last entry. I can confidently say I have put on a few pounds over Easter. My mind says I should stop eating, but my mouth says keep going, you can't control yourself so you better give in. Anyway, all the food I've eaten was good and felt you should all know. Although, I recommend you do it, do it only once a year. If you do it more, your mid-section will be used on the news(Yes, I referenced a previous post).
Also, I want to talk about the premiere of one of my favorite shows, 'Entourage'. I think the show is at an interesting point right now. If you have not seen the show I suggest you find a way to see it. It is a great show, it also proves that HBO is better than network TV shows. Even though I just started watching the show about a year ago, I became hooked. It is almost like a drug, except it is not bad if you get caught watching it. You should be commended with a pin and a pat on the back. The show has one of televisions best characters in Ari Gold. His sayings always seem to stay stuck in my mind, often later re-used by myself without expressed, written consent of HBO. The tone of those sayings also help. We should all have a slow clap for Jeremy Piven for being as awesome as he is (Go ahead, clap. You know you should).
Finally, I want to take time to touch on my favorite time of the sporting year, the Stanley Cup playoffs. For all of you people who think the NHL is dull, just wait. I gurantee there will be many series that go the full length. I can also gurantee that there will be many overtime games. These Canadians know how to make excitement. Most think Canadians are mellow, but they can get you out of your seat. They are silent assassins in the entertainment department. I think we all remember a Mr. John Candy. He had me going crazy while watching 'Uncle Buck'. (Uncle Buck is one of the best movies about a relative watching children. If you don't think so, click the red x at the top right corner of your window to send me your argument against me. And yes, that is a picture of Abe Vigoda because he is one awesome S.O.B. If you disagree, I challenge you to duel. We fight medeival style for Amazing Abe.)
If you want great NHL playoff coverage, check out this sports blog. This guy knows the NHL better than you know anything (Maybe not that much, but trust me, he is good). It will go past the NHL as well, but let's be serious, what is the next few months will compete with the excitement of the NHL playoffs.
