My day today

There once was a mutt named 7
she has paint smudge on her nose
Her belly and two paws are white
she had seven and half pink toes
Her teeth tiny in the front and long and pokey on the sides
peek out from between brown lips as they smile at you...
Gold highlights seem to float on top of chocolate colored fur
causing one to think of a latte or a cappuccino.
This mutt named 7 is queen of every soft and comfortable place in the house
This mutt named 7 sleeps besides me
This mutt named 7 licks my tears away
and in her own quiet way
with a sharp whack to the shin with her rope like tail
just to make sure she has my attention
she tells me
.."I still love you and I am here for you."
She lays her head down next to mine, looking up at me with those chocolate brown eyes
and schooches up til her head is next to mine on the pillow.
She throws a paw on my shoulder... and we drift off to sleep
Her being my guardian and I her companion.

She is much older now and definitely about 10x bigger
