iMac

Sleek, fast and shiny

Intel Core 2 Duo processors, finally! (and 24" iMacs..)

, , ,

Yup, we had been hoping for it, and it has happened! The iMacs were updated September 5th, as well as the Mac Minis, and now all iMacs come with an Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and 1GB of memory (except for the cheapest iMac model).

And in addition to the 17" and 20" iMacs, there is now a 24" iMac as well! Quite impressing!

A little outdated now that the next iteration of iMac's has come around, and are very nice machines also! Apple maintains their standard! I have one of the white iMac's. I was a little apprehensive about the purchase initially (I think most "Windows" users, or "converts", are at first), but honestly, I don't think I could ever have anything else as a personal computer (my own, not one I have to work on at work) again. It is just a purely simple and wonderful machine to use. Thanks Apple! Keep up the great work!

Anyone not like the startup picture for Leopard? You can simply replace the image located at /System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg with the image/picture of your choosing and the next time you log in, it will be set to your background to your customized image.

(Note: You have to rename the picture of your choosing to "DefaultDesktop.jpg)

This tip was found on appletell.com on the Leopard Tweaking Guide.

Ciao!
