sleep deprivation

According to the Australian Magazine, (yesterday's one, so 25th Novemenber 2007), school age children dont get enough sleep.
Wow. Great, new news. But there is more:
Apparently, getting even a hour to little sleep can have very bad effects on a child's learning the next day. Studies [allegedly, anyway] have shown that grade 6 children who miss an hour of sleep only perform to a grade 4 standard the next day!!
I was thinking about this, and my sleep schedual - and I realized two things. One: My spelling sucks, and "schedual" is a stupid word. Two: I get less than 7 hours a sleep a night, sometimes as little as 4. Most of the time its between 5 and 6, I think.
Reccomended Sleep Amount:
Children - 9/10 hours a night.
Teenagers - 8-9 hours a night.
Adults - 8 hours a night.
Apparently sleep is important in forming conections in your brain. This is a problem for me, as it means that connections dont get made. :S
So ... go to sleep earlier!!
