According to Wikipedia, The word Epic is actually a long poem typically derived from oral tradition, It could narrate the deed and adventures of a heroic. An epic is a poem of this nature.
Other modern dictionary website explains it otherwise. For instance urban dictionary describes #Epic as an adjective siting an example with the word fail as “Epic fail“. With the addition of “Epic” to the fail, it means you shouldn’t have fail, that it was easier, way much easier to succeed. And in connection with the formal meaning of epic (i.e. long) it describes that you have been failing for quiet a long time.
In my case of the usage of Epic, I use the word to describe an important event, event extraordinaire, out of this world photo, post, Comment or an entrepreneurial feat. More like the meaning in urban Dictionary, why shouldn't that be the case? I’m in modern man!
The celebrity mostly noted for using “Epic” in statements is Justin Beiber. In his tweeter feed, epic is said countless times. Epic too is featured on one of my favourite Nigerian artist, M.I’s song, Epic! Watch here. On twitter, #Epic is said over 9,000,000 times a day. I still wonder why it isn’t trending.
So in all that you do, try to make it #epic, give out an #epic comment on your facebook page, post an #epic photo and let’s make #epic trend on twitter.
