opera, url, redirect
Clicked from my Google's Search History, the URL is very long:
http://www.google.com/searchhistory/url?url=http://www.java-entrepreneur.com/50226711/ubuntu_install_for_java_programmers.php&ei=kWbIRLqIMZCMYeWzlL4I&sig2=8T93k5EWgCAPfj1Rij2kxg&zx=Jp3wM_K0emA&ct=w.
My oh my... why Opera let this long URL stay at Location box and page redirect does not automatically refresh its URL?
A bit of confusing for copy pasting URL.

opera, yahoo, blog
Using Opera for maintaining Yahoo! 360 can be a serious problem. Yahoo!'s JavaScript for posting page (especially in textarea box) seems to be interpreted "strangely". I wrote one sentence and it went unwrapped after right margin of textarea. It was even worse that the result was ugly HTML too that has several lines too long. Color button does not work either, while I use that fancy attribute heavily.
The result: I fixed that problem by logging in to Yahoo! 360 using other browser.

torrent, opera
Finally, my first Torrent experience in Opera has successfully been done. It is MP3 97.3 MB, done in five days stop-and-resume in my notebook. After that, Opera's Torrent client went into sharing mode.
Nice first impression.

widget, opera, blog
Widgetize looks nice — float interface, clean, and impressive. But do I have to download each time I activate my blog widgetize? It could hurt us who are "very careful" about Internet bandwidth.
Update/02:37 I miss about Widget. Just open Widget Panel, and voila... all are saved there.

opera, linux, download, torrent
I have changed to Ubuntu for about one month since notebook became daily computer I used. Just about one week after setting Ubuntu 6.06 "Dapper", Opera 9.0 was out. A nice try and I downloaded both for Debian (my desktop in office) and Ubuntu itself. Several of my colleague in my room also upgraded to 9.0 for various reasons:
- A "one for all" aplication that suites best for his need. All means: browsing, emailing, and even bookmarking.
- Better resume for downloads. Internet connection is not always good here, so a better resuming tomorrow is a must. Now I try to use Torrent feature — about five times stop-and-resume because it is impossible to let my notebook always on all the days.
- A must try also is Opera's widget. Not yet, but I am in searching good and valuable widget.
Ok, I also still use other browser on my Ubuntu, but let me get also a nice experience using Opera 9.0!

blogtools, wordpress
Note: I am a Movable Type user for my primary blog (
1,
2). This entry
is not a review, rather my experience using WordPress 2.0.
Project began and we need
simple documentation tool for our Linux notebook. I choose blog -- easy to setup, simple to use, and chronological viewpoint. Apache and MySql are okay for the notebook. With
WordPress 2.0 euphoria last week1; this can be a good point to try major version change in WP. In short, this great product
still surpasses others in term of ease of installation.
But, that's WordPress improvements that is for me becoming unlucky feature:
- Visual rich editor that annoys me because it takes control over HTML and Markdown. Maybe I am too HTML-geeky?
- More space occupied by post preview. It is unnecessary to have real "on the fly" preview with the impact that users spend more scrolling.
A nice catch for common end-users?
1 Technorati's result for this week, 11 January 2006. It may be vary on other date.

photo, picture
For a long time my picture was not shown in Google Image because my
robots.txt excludes Google Image crawl from collecting. Yesterday evening was another courious time to spend a little play with Google and my identity, blogs, etc. and -- weks -- my photos from Opera, Flickr, and Blogger are shown for
Ikhlasul Amal. Let them go!

opera
Unfortunately, Opera provides Cookies manager without single option to delete all cookies with a single click. I have a little bit confused how to clear my browser from all "sessions", mostly because it seems difficult with cookies.

hosting, offering
Today's morning I saw
Dream Host's announcement dated 27 September that they let their customer use as many as possible domain and subdomain hosted with their account there. Great Dream Host, now I do not need to count available domain and subdomain with my Booster package; so I can help my friends hosting their Web using my account (4 GB is too much for myself).
"Unfortunately", I have purchased one extra Booster to provide domain that I used. Suppose I could wait until today. Ahhh...

How Long Does Trackback Reach Its Destination?
My entry,
Move to Opera, has a trackback to my blog,
#direktif, and posted on 22 September last week. I did not have any idea about that ping until notification came out. Surprisingly,
that was on 27 September -- five days after. A little surprise, usually I got trackback minutes after.
Maybe Opera's blog engine collects all trackback requests and then after certain time spreads them out. But, really, it is so long enough...
[Update: 03/10] The second trackback was delivered faster, in some minutes.
Good, Opera!
