My OperaLittle insects called ants

I sometimes wonder these marvelous little instects. I have little problem with these insects because they are trying to invade my house. I try to block their way from the sewer but since I can't block their way all the time some of them allways get to my apartment. I don't want to kill my cats with insectoid so I'm at the moment just blocking them. Never mind. I'm not so horrified about these pests that I would use all that I can. Actually I think these are kind of fascinating little creatures. By the way these ants are called sugar ants in finnish language. wikipedia says that sugar ants would live in australia and would look brown. In finnish we call sugar ants the most harmless(they don't bite or anything) ant that look allmost black and is quite small.
Anyone who knows little bit of ant life probably agree that these are quite special species. They communicate to each other chemically and one ant is probably quite stupid. Fasinating is the way they communicate. It reminds me brains. One ant is kind of one brain cell. Ants work very well with each other, they dont argue with others. And the way that they find their food is at least special: they wonder around trying to find food and when they find it they will leave special smell in their way to home, so others find the food.
I have tried to study if there is some way to confuse their sense of smell. I found from the net that cinnamon would probably do it but now that I want to test it I can't see any ants coming to my sugar yummy. I know that if I manage to keep ants away from my apartment my neightbour will soon have more visitors than usual:)
One thing that I have tried is that if these ants would get drunk. I couldn't tell because they are wondering like drunk without alcohol, so there is no much change in there at least with those dozes that i gave. what would happen if whole nest would be drunk? ant party?
Maybe some day those pests are poisoned by me or neightbour because its allmost impossible to get rid of them any other way(outside there would be some other means too). It's fun to examine them how they will react to things, so it can take a while untill I will kill them.
By the way this is my first post in here. You will most likely see technical and science stuff in my blog. I'll try to write my posts in english when the subject will consern more than just finns. Remember that my native language are not english so try to understand if there is some spelling errors.
