Just a quick note to myself, after finishing to write the dissertation and regretting it X-P
First thing I want to say is don't wait until you actually finish something before writing the report. After having it done now, I think the best way to write a report is to write it along the way, as you progress. It would definitely mean there'll be a lot of mistakes. Maybe it's even worth writing it in a blog, for an example. so you would see the progress, and where you went wrong, and in the end, this may be worth discussing in the "discussion" chapter or the "conclusion".
ALWAYS finish your report at least a week before the submission date. It's hard to read through it once you've done. mainly coz you don't want to ever see it again. The thing is, other people will!!! Omg. i couldn't express how embarrased i was reading the conclusion that I, personally, me, wrote. other than not making any sense, it also gramatically incorrect, and incoherent.
