Finished my exams

Phew, exams are done... no more revising, looking for notes, or stressful nights. i've done my dissertation, my exams, all the parts i'm supposed to do, and now i'll just stand back, and relax. what else to do though? i can maybe start doing what i always wanted to do when i have spare times... like playing mmorpg games, like what i've done for 3 days in a row now. i'm getting pretty saturated with it as well though.
i also wanted to see the star wars iii, which i did today, and very satisfied with it. as is everyone else. (do you ever wonder whether you genuinely like it, or all those rave reviews on the papers, tv, magazines actually got to you?) but it's good enough to make me read through the history of the sith in www.howstuffworks.com, one of my favourite sites. now i know that they have been around for a much longer time, and that it is still quite hard to make a working lightsaber. a guy proposed of using laser, reflected with a mirror to focus it at a chosen length. doesn't work as a light"saber" tho, coz u can't actually duel with it
it would just go right through other sabres like flash lights does. only that it cuts through you
i'm sure you'll notice the similarity between the sith's ideal to communism, and jedi to democracy. obi-wan actually said it out loud, LOL! but is that really bad though? if only anakin didn't eliminate all those poor creatures on the volcano-land, maybe it would turn out alright?!? that's what made me curious about the siths in the first place.
this leads the topic nicely to my next to do list... i wanted to learn more about ideals like marxism, and darwin's evolution! i saw an article in the guardian about a chinese author who wrote a book about life during Mao's revolution in China. i believe the book is called the wild swan by Jung Chang. i would like to give it a read. everyone seems to love it.
another book that i would like to read is the chronicle of narnia, pursuing the sci-fi/fantasy genre fascination of mine. i still owe the last of the dark material trilogy though, maybe i'll finish that one first. it is said that the last book is the best. more action? maybe. she's called lyra, wasn't she? a bit like lyla, that new single of oasis. hmmm, they would feel a bit better than coldplay, who's got beaten on their attempt to break to the number 1 spot in the UK singles chart, by none other of the craziest of the Crazy Frog!! hoee, life is good
anyway, did i told you about the KT Tunstall gig?!? wow
she's one cool gal! i went to her gig in Northumbria University last Tuesday, the 24th of May 2005. i really loved it. too bad i didn't have any picture, but i'll tell you some things, she was always trying to make some attempt to crack jokes, which hasn't always been successful
but that's why i love her. i think she's a bit quirky, which reminds me of my best friend. i've been over the years, love quirkier people more than normal people. the geek, the nervous kid, the foreign student who doesn't speak english (very well), etc. anyway, during KT's gig, i was sitting behind the mixing table where the sound technician actually adjust all the electronic stuff with the speakers. well, this guy's got the list of songs KT was going to perform, and there's a little gap between the last two songs!! so there's a list of 8-10 songs, and then a great big black line, before two more songs. the last song looked like it was added just on the last minute, since it wasn't typed in, instead was hand-written. guess what happened during the show. she and her band went to the backstage before the thick black line, and returns to do another song. when she's done, they all dissapeared once more to the backstage, only to appear once again due to heavy demand of the audience. this time though, she did a beautiful solo guitar. and then the lights were on. i guess everything has been staged beforehand. so next time you go to see a gig, applause loudly at the end of the show, to get those two extra songs, or using gaming terms, unlock them
don't do it if you can't stand the artist, though...
i also want to travel around the uk before summer ends. maybe i will travel, and bring those books with me, so i can read them on the way. a friend of mine already agrees to rent a car together, and do a little roadtrip
i'll keep you lot up to date with that. for now, i'm looking forward to this upcoming bank holiday monday, for the orangeevolution event taking place in newcastle. i'm going to see dizzy rascal, and the super furry animals, dogs die in hot cars, and el presidente, i think they are pretty good, right?
