Hey..guys,have you ever seen a big,big puppet?here is the giant puppet in Jakarta.
Ondel-ondel is a giant puppet mascot from Betawi which is used on Betawi's marriage ceremonies or Jakarta's universary festivals.We have special event every year,called Jakarta Fair.which has bazaar,traditional dance performances,Betawi's traditional food,fireworks, and other Jakarta related things.

Hai,abang-none,ncing-ncang,nyak-babe,...semuanye,kite nonton ondel-ondel dimari nyok.sambil nyantai liat-liat komen.nonton bazar ame aye,boleh ndiri boleh rombongan satu RT.nyang mau makan-makan juga tersedie,komplit bang.nyang cuman mau numpang lewat,numpang ngobrol juga ok.nyang penting asik-asik aje ye...jangan pade berantem,nyang pade akur nape ye...nyok,nyok..

its a tradition of betawi etnich...and we must keep the tradition...we have own ethnic.and ondel-ondel is one of a hundreds' lndonesian ethnic.

yeah,suren...l'm glad,that my cultur spread away on the world.now,u remembr and know that its from my country,lndonesia.from jakarta/betawi ethnic.u know,we have a hundreds of ethnics.and have different cultur+regionl language.but we live in peace+harmony.

Is there anything beside that?..
Kinda a big ship that made from paper and the folks begun to burn it out..... To signed that bad spirits has gone.. And they celebrated tha moment every year.. At lunar calender..or Chinese year.. Thats ceremony from Bagansiapi api.. In Kepulauan Riau..
I'd love to see it.. B'coz my friends are chinese..

of course,ris.but not the same with the chinese tradition,l love it too.
it may open with kind of tradition music..called marawis,robana.then,fire some firecrackers(petasan),say welcome to the guests or visitors.after that we're all see the ondel-ondel show...
its so fantastic...yes,have a festifal that held every year,on june.its the event of jakarta's birth...but we also cn see the ondel2 in other event,such as, wedding,penganten sunat,etc.

long time ago,betawi community,believe in magic...so to protect the community from black magic and afflictions,they made two big puppet symbolize the spiritual protection provided by the ancestors of betawi population.they believed that the puppet kept them from the black magic...
