One Man's Opinion

Why a full Democrat run is not the end of the USA

First let me say that in 28 years of voting, I've never voted for a Democrat for President. Until yesterday. I've been a registered Republican or Independant, depending on where I lived.

John McCain and the RNC are trying to scare people into not voting the Democrats into the Presidency and full control of both the House and the Senate. What they really want is to scare you enough to vote for McCain.

They tell you that giving the Dems all three, is giving them a blank check. But they weren't saying anything when the Republicans had all three from 2000 to 2006, were they?

But I'll tell you why I think we don't have to worry if the Democrats have control. Because they all want to get re-elected! In two years are the mid-term elections, with the House of Representatives and 1/3 of the Senate up for re-election. And they do want to come back. In four years, the President, the House and 1/3 of the Senate are up for re-election. The President will be wanting a 2nd term, and every one else wants to come back.

I for one, am not afraid if the Democrats gain control of all three. I've seen what the current crop of Republicans can do, and I feel McCain will continue the current policies. Your vote is up to you, but don't let the Republicans scare you with rhetoric about the Democrats putting us in ruin. I firmly believe they will improve things for everyone, overall. But really, can they do any worse?

One Man's Opinion

Bachmann she walked into a trap? I don't think so. Is Bachmann for real? And will Minnesotans re-elect her?

As an independent most of my life I also will be voting for Obama. I saw on the news tonight that Elizabeth Hassleback from the view has joined Gov Palin on the straight talk express.(oxymoron). Sometimes I have to ask myself what next will the campaign do to hurt itself? Does the name Ann Coulter come to mine? Hmmm.

Another thing that crosses my mind is if Gov Palin is the most popular Governor in the country then what does that say for the rest of the Republican governors? Senator Obama saw his own weakness and chose a VP that would fill in the gap. McCain obviously feels by his choice that he has no weak areas. Well folks he sure as hell created some now. It also has come to mind that since John selected Gov Palin the whole family values that was so much on his agenda has quietly disappeared.

Just thought i would share

Interesting Rationale.

You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World ....

143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America ? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!!!

People who think congress only works on the days they're in session are fools or stupid. The former should get help before the vote, and the latter.... just shouldn't vote.

Personally I prefer someone who has had more than 143 Days working experience to be President. Especially considering most people don't see this recession(or whatever you want to call it) ending for another 2-3 years. Again that is MY opinion.

i don't know where you guys keep getting this 143 days as realistic. They don't go on vacation when they're not in DC. And a state senator actually does a lot more day to day, than a US senator. By that I mean they deal with a lot more issues, quantity wise. It's not like he was doing nothing before he went to DC.

And McCain keeps talking change. He's been in DC for 30 years or so. What the hell's he been doing?

It was current policies that got us in this recession.

So...what part of the country has obama not put into ruin yet? I am still looking for it. The democrats having the control they have is just as bad, if not worse, than the republicans being completely in control. Our nation is heading into a deeper deficit at a dizzying rate. This is quite ridiculous. And all the obamaphiles keep on about how much worse it would be if someone else was in charge. Even though saint biden just said 'we mis-read the economy.'
