Patterns of a curious mind

STICKY POST

Just starting...

, , ,

I have too many interests to fit them into one manageable blog - when you mix photography, technology, science, politics, development, cinema, games, travel, programming, social sciences and more into one blog, you get a "white noise" effect. So this blog is a spin off focusing on art and culture, things like photography and urbanism and fine art...

For the rest check my old site, the link is in the sidebar

Added more photos

2 new galleries and more photos added to trees!

I added a dozen photos to the Morocco gallery. Maybe someone will enjoy them

6 months idle :(

I'm just realising it has been months since I last posted here. Not very good. And I am not much better on my other blog.

The reason is that I have been working on a contract in London and that has taken enough of my time that I dont have as much time to think and write.

Will make an effort, it's not like I havent found things in the past 6 months that would fall right under this blog.

Shopaholic moment: Threadless T Shirts

, ,

This is an artsy T Shirt site. With some great designs, and reasonable prices ($15) for the shirts. And a great community twist: future designs can be posted by any one, and commented and voted upon by the community. Anything generating enough buzz might actually make it into their line of shirts.

There are some beautiful abstract designs, but my current favorite from the voting pot is humoristic (expires in days) http://www.threadless.com/submission/117092/the_ugly_sheep

Website: Everything's not shit

,

I love this idea of a blog, listing good things and small blessings.

Entries so far cover bacon sandwiches, bubble wrap, browsing a bookshop...

Nowak Ryszard

These rabbit photos just made my day!

http://my.opera.com/Nowak%20Ryszard/albums/show.dml?id=242951

I have had rabbits and that is just the behaviour you would expect if you were bringing something tasty, say some dandelion leaves...

I alas don't understand polish so I cannot comment on the blog, but he has are a few collections worth exploring that work without words.

Thru Andy's Lens

Another nice surprise, found because he visited my page recently :D

Nature pictures, birds, butterflies and more. Lots of ducks, and I love ducks :D

I'll stay with the cute theme started with the previous link and link to his pictures of juvenile birds

Art: Leslie Clark

, , , ...

Discovered thanks to the Endicott blog. Terri Windling not only wrote one of my favorite books ever, she regularly makes me discover artists I wish I had known about.

Anyway, this artist spends a lot of time living and travelling with Nomads in the Sahara desert, the paintings are fabulous. What is even more fabulous is that she has since created a charity and a whole program to help the nomads be able to keep their lifestyle and live with pride.

Now I love the landscapes and people of the Sahara, I have wonderful memories and a desire to go back again and again, so these paintings resonnate very strongly for me.
