Brussels && Antwerp 2 (2008)

Created on Sunday, 10. February 2008.

4 years later, my second trip to Brussels, Belgium. Although it's somewhat the capital of the EU and more than twice populated than Norway (entire country), number of people who can speak English is half of Oslo (probably twice of Istanbul, though). It's slightly expensive but still can't compete with Oslo.

City museum does not have English text or tags for items in display. This is nothing but... sorry, but I have to say; stupid. It's in French and Dutch. Who's the intended audience of the museum? French speaking people, Dutch speaking people, or people who can speak English in additition to other languages? I haven't seen any English word in there. If somebody did, please tell me where it was.

There are many things one can say about Brussels, but particularly transportation (and in particular, metro) is one of the best in Europe. London might be the champ, then may come Paris, in my ordering.

Besides all good-and-bad in Brussels, one certainly good thing is the Belgian chocolate. I have tried Swiss chocolate, too. But Belgian praline is still the champion for me. This time, I have preferred another chocolate shop, slightly more expensive, but it worths every penny you pay.
