Follow the trends - Countries visited :)

, , ,

Everybody has got "Countries I have visisted" pictures. I have decided to get mine, too! Going one or two cities does not make someone visited whole country, but that's how system works.

create your own visited countries map
or vertaling Duits Nederlands

The tiny red spot on far east is Korea. I have been to Seoul - gorgeous city, like Istanbul, it's just big. I mean, it's big, bigger than London, Paris or any other big city in Europe. Istanbul's population, as far as I know, is greater than Seoul's.

I have never been to northern Norway (red region on top of the map), didn't see whole Italy, Spain and Netherlands (yet). I have spent long time in London and we (I and a friend) have actually planned to go to Manchester and Cambridge, but we loved London so much so we've stayed there.

Well, I haven't seen whole Turkey either! Furthest east point I have been to was Ankara, the capital, which is at the middle of the country. Furthest south point was Izmir, which is on Aegean sea, quite close to Greece. I have born and grown up at north west of Turkey. Here I am at north west Europe, Norway

So, basically, I have seen following cities:
Belgium:
Antwerp
Brusssels

France:
Paris (twice)

Italy:
Milano
Rome (partially, needs proper visit)

Netherlands:
Amsterdam

Sweden:
Goteborg
Malmo
Linkoping (in very near future)
Stockholm (in very near future)

Norway:
Oslo (of course)
Bergen

UK:
London

South Korea, Republic of:
Seoul
The city south east of Seoul (forgot its name)

Denmark:
Copenhagen (with car, from Oslo, great trip, thanks Arjan!)

Spain:
Barcelona
Malaga (soon)

Turkey:
Istanbul (of course)
Tekirdag (of course)
Edirne
Izmir
Ankara
Sakarya
Canakkale
Bursa
couple of more, I guess

Addition
What about "my virtual flights"?

This is where I have flown so far (in real world and in simulation  ) I prefer Lufthansa, sometimes KLM.

Hoping that they don't speak the way they writeOpera and opera

I see you do travel a bit  do you get miles?

Ismail 10. August 2006, 00:45

No  Unfortunately, my bank in Turkey was ...well, strange! I have applied a "miles and something" credit card in February 2004. They did not send the card, neither provided in the airport (this is what they told me first). But they have sent my receipt, 0 debt, no card number, no other info. I have called them and asked whether my card is issued, they said my application has been refused. I did not ask for reason and told them that I receive receipts with 0 debt. In February 2006, they called me and told that my card is approved and I should pick it up. But it's been 2 years and I moved to Norway. I did not pick it up and just cancelled it. Never mind that they have increased my (plain Visa card's) limit without notifying me. Of course, I have asked them to decrease it. If something goes wrong - stolen, fraud or if I couldn't stop myself -, it doesn't end up with a disaster.

I did not apply "miles and something else" card in Norway yet, neither member of any airline's frequent flyer programme.

You are so funny without even knowing it

They never decrease your spending limit they would go broke haha..

You have to request the miles program and from what I heard it's a royal pain .. when you go to use the miles for International flights they give you so many black out days and it's usually the time you would fly.

I hope you get it all sorted out one day, it's very time consuming and mind boggling at the same time .

thank you for adding me and also allowing me to smile

Thanks and welcome

I don't consider participating any "miles and some really cool thing" programme. I think banks don't do something for nothing. Or at least, they don't do it customers' way but their very own way, so best is not to get angry; peace of my mind is most important.

Fatimah 10. August 2006, 13:21

Hi again,

I find the best way of having peace in ones life is to be simple not complexed or over loaded

One bank , one card, I use to have 10 cards with 10 different companies
just think of that confusion and stress.. so many sending offers to much to keep track of..

I like the word ONE now

and yes PEACE OF MIND is the most important

Ismail 10. August 2006, 14:08

I have one card, too. I've had one card only. I don't feel safe to have more than I can afford. It's a credit, it's not free; they want their money back.

Fatimah 10. August 2006, 19:11

yes they do want their money back and basically a person only needs one card not 10 like I had before.

I feel free now not having to care about interest rates and monthly payments my card is connected to my checking account so I can only spend what I have in the bank and no interest on my own money from using the card
