Life around here has been very quiet lately. I just got a reminder, when I went to 7:30 Mass this morning, that O.L. Mt. Carmel's annual feast started last night. I forgot to go then but I shall show up tonight. The food & other attractions over there are pretty good. The disadvantages are that the food's too fattening & crowds make me a nervous wreck. I used to like to go to the ones that St. John's & O.L.P.H. have because I knew many people. Here the only disadvantage in this area is that people are all strangers to me. I'll have a much easier time this year with directions for getting through all the traffic. Uncle Frankie came over for a while yesterday. There's been no big news with him lately. I've been reading more, each day of that book about Marxism. It's really been giving me lots of ideas about how we've ended up in the mess we're in these days. Over the past couple of days, I've been eating coffee yogurt. I've always been quite a fool for coffee but this is yogurt! For that reason alone, it's quite odd that I enjoy it so much. There was a lot of trouble with the computers in Wyoming's library today so I'm at the Hoyt. Yesterday Linnae left me a message. She wants me to cover for her at Mass next weekend. That's not such a big surprise. I'm everybody's plan B. As always, I've been practicing my guitar, mostly Beatle oldies & some Eric Clapton. Lately I seem to have been bitten by some kind of bug or something. I got away from it, unfortunately, for quite a while until recently. Yesterday I found a pair of old shorts I couldn't even try to account for. Its too bad I didn't notice them last week in Hilldale or I should have been able to go into the pool.
