from the minute i could talk...i was ordered to listen

Somewhere Safe

I hear the screams outside my door, the threats to leave once more

It's raining outside...
I want to run away to a better place
where i can stay without fear, without hate...
just somewhere safe

That's when I saw his face, against the rain, just a little boy crying again

It's raining outside...
He wants to run a way to a better place
where he can stay without fear, without hate...
just somewhere safe

I'm outside my front door staring down the street, a hundred kids waiting...waiting to leave

Can we run a way, to a better place
where there's no more figting, no more hate
Is there somewhere safe?
for us to hide our fear?
anyone who cares to wipe away our tears?
Where the grass is green and this grey world is gone...
is there anywhere...anywhere we can run?
Is there anywhere...anywhere we could run?

The rain falls down the windo, tears fall down my face...

Longing for somewhere, somewhere safe.

One of the hardest lessons I had to learn as I became an adult, is that there is no real place of safety. We shield our kids from that truth as long as we can. In the end tho, we have to learn it.

Captivevet 26. October 2008, 15:37

You must be pretty busy these days. Still working that job?:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 6. November 2008, 22:10

That's true...and that's why i wrote it.

yeah...but i'm getting sick of it...

Captivevet 6. November 2008, 22:22

Soon you will move on up to better things!

Captivevet 23. November 2008, 20:10

I suppose you are buried in activities. Just a "fly by" hi!

ivealwaysbeenevil 24. November 2008, 19:01

yeah, i have been.

Captivevet 24. November 2008, 19:45

How much time will you have off? Are you still working that job?

ivealwaysbeenevil 25. November 2008, 20:41

well i've got a bunch now cuz we hired a whole bunch of new people...yeah, but not for much longer, i'm looking for a new job that's transferrable.

Captivevet 25. November 2008, 21:19

Once you are over 18, you should be able to find something better!

ivealwaysbeenevil 25. November 2008, 21:21

yeah...i'm looking at family dollar for now...but i'm not sure yet.

Captivevet 25. November 2008, 21:28

A job with a future. Oops I have to go to another machine now.

ivealwaysbeenevil 25. November 2008, 21:29

lol.

Captivevet 25. November 2008, 22:27

My uncle is playing his guitar on "2nd Life" now. He kicked me off the good machine so that he could do his thing. Next week, I am buying my own machine and he won't be able to kick me off anymore.:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 1. January 2009, 22:47

lol, sounds like a plan.

Captivevet 2. January 2009, 16:54

Things have changed around here since last we spoke. My grandmother passed away on Dec. 21. We put her on ice until after the holidays. Her funeral is next week, down in Columbus, Ohio.

I got tired of Paul kicking me off the computer, so I went and bought my own. I hope things went well for you on the Holidays.:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 14. January 2009, 00:44

oh! i'm sorry about your grandma!

Captivevet 14. January 2009, 22:56

I am going to miss her, but she did live 101 years, and that is a lot of history to see. How are you doing? Is that old car of yours still holding together?:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 28. January 2009, 01:06

oh wow. that's pretty impressive.

ha! lol, don't even get me started on that P.O.S. lol, i've pushed it home more times than i've actually driven it.

Captivevet 28. January 2009, 04:16

I used to own a car like that. It tried to kill me five times. After the last time it happened. I parked it and left the signed title in the glove box and walked away from it.:furious:

ivealwaysbeenevil 6. February 2009, 15:45

lmao. i know how you feel...i'm so tempted to do the same.

Captivevet 6. February 2009, 19:37

Have you been snowbound or icebound much this winter? Here in Grand Rapids we are finally having a thaw.

ivealwaysbeenevil 9. February 2009, 22:04

no
that sux that you were...

Captivevet 9. February 2009, 22:06

I won't do another winter in Grand Rapids. No way.

ivealwaysbeenevil 18. March 2009, 00:00

ha, i don't blame you.

Captivevet 18. March 2009, 03:00

Hey! Where have you been? It is finally Spring around here. It was almost 70 degrees today.

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 14:48

ha, it's still snowing here.

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 18:15

Upper fourties today, but still going up, even when it goes down. How is your car? I had to spend $1300 on mine a couple of weeks ago to make it right again. It was a hard winter on my car.

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 18:17

oh...my car started on fire...

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 18:18

For heavens sake! Did you let it burn to the ground and then sell it for scrap?

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 18:22

no, not yet. It was the most bizarre thing ever, i had a windex bottle sitting in the back seat, and the sun was hitting it, and you know how when you're younger you can burn ants with a magnifying glass?, it's the same exact principle.

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 18:27

Wow! Now that IS bizarre. Did it just burn up the seat then?:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 18:27

Yeah, there's a pretty good sized hole in my back seat.

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 18:31

You could have lost the car completely. How is it running?

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 18:33

Pretty good, it's got some carbon in it somewhere though, it keeps backfiring.

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 18:48

Actually there are three things it could be:

1. A bad spark plug.
2. Your engine timing is off.
3. The vacuum line to your distributor has come loose.

Any of the above could cause that problem.:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 18:52

Yeah, i checked all those, and they're good, so i'm pretty sure it's just carbon.

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 18:54

Then put some good gas in it, get out on the hiway and stand on it for awhile. Fifty miles ought to do it.

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 19:04

Yeah, that's what i'm planning on doing as soon as i get enough time.

Captivevet 23. March 2009, 19:06

I also think that there is a fuel additive that will help with that.

ivealwaysbeenevil 23. March 2009, 23:05

yeah...there is, but i can't get ahold of it here. besides, i'm just going to sell it out to california, so i'm not going to worry about it.

Captivevet 24. March 2009, 19:26

Are you moving out to California?

ivealwaysbeenevil 26. March 2009, 23:53

no...it's just the mustang grande is a wanted car out there...so that's most likely the best place i can sell it at.

Captivevet 14. April 2009, 08:51

Sounds like a plan.:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 14. April 2009, 15:16

mmmhmm

Captivevet 14. April 2009, 19:28

I went on a long roadtrip to a resort hotel and got home just in time to get real sick.:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 15. April 2009, 15:42

oh no...that sux.

Captivevet 16. April 2009, 02:55

Yeah, it does. Now, my uncle is pissed at me and wants me to move out. I told him that as soon as my tax problems are cleared up, I am gone.:coffee:

ivealwaysbeenevil 16. April 2009, 14:16

crazy.

Captivevet 16. April 2009, 16:43

It isn't so bad. Life just likes to do things to you sometimes. As far as my uncle is concerned: He doesn't need me anymore, and I am sick of Grand Rapids. I can tell you that for free.:coffee:
