Annual Dinner

Geography Soceity Annual Dinner 2007 at Royal Holloway, University of London

Living AT UK

Today is the first day for the new academic year for my postgraduate study at UK. I've attened lectures and met my classmates. Quite a lot Britishes in our class and also students from same country as me- China, students from Thailand, South Korea, Nigeria, America and Gana:) It is quite amazing to study in such a dymanic classroom, of I forgot, our lecturer comes from German:p However, as a non-native English speaker, i found it a little bit difficult to understand the different accents. I guess i will getting used to it with time.

I've got heating in my room today!! Its such a great news!!! God knows how cold it is in England, and last week, i had no heating in my room, so i had to sleep with two quits. The food is quite expensive here, especially if you decide to eat in restaurant! That will probably cost your one week's living expenses. I went to London last Saturday and had lunch with my old classmates in a Chinese restaurant in China Town. Four ordinary dishes cost us 55pounds including service fee! Back in China, it won't cost you even 5 pounds and it would be more delicious!!!

I've signed up volunteer group of my university online yesterday and I hope there's something I can do to make my stay in the UK more meaningful. Right, time for cooking dinner! I'll keep you posted:)

A few pics about my school, london, and me:)

I am back

I am at UK right now, so I can get access to Opera; The reason I disapeared for a long time was because Opera is blocked by the Chinese government.

I am back again, my friends! Will post a few pictures I take about UK on later days when I get interent in my room.

I miss all you guys! cheers!

Back from Hongkong and Macau

Last week, I went to Hongkong and Macau for holidays with my bf.
I've been to HK and Macau twice before, and this time, I found Macau is still as charming as it always be, but HK, it is disappointing me. Maybe it is because the city I am living is very similar to HK, which made me lost intersts. Anyway, I had my first luxurious product, a Prada wallet:) And the color and style can only be found in one Prada shop in HK. That means, my Prada wallet is unique in HK!
I'll post some pictures for you:)

Always busy

Last week, the average house I sleep for is 4, coz I had lots lots lots of work to do.
Almost everyday I receive a new translation task, so I just kept working working and working.

Last Friday was my birthday, but it might be the worst birthday I had ever had. Laptop broken, Internet connection broken, mobile phone sliped from my pocket to bathtub, "played" by a friend who i used to trust, etc.

Last Saturday, I went to "see" my grandma(tomb), and then I did some shopping in the leather hometown. Looked around for three hours and finally bought me a fake Loewe:p Sorry but I like fake bags:D Pretty design and reasonable price!

This week, gonna start with my disseration coz next week I am going to Macau and Hongkong. I will post pictures I take when I come back:)

Wish everyone happy, and wish that I won't physically get older since my age is one year older now, bless!

Some people

Some people feel happy when they hurt others feelings

Some people feel happy when they feel that it seems others are living worse than him/her

But, it is just seems, it is not the reality.

Only when you really see, you will find out its just your own dream;p

Ernai

Ernai-it is a chinese word, and the meaning of it is: pretty, young single women with high education being long-term sex partner with old, rich married men. I am not sure if it happens in western countries, but the phenomenon in China is getting more serious.

So my friend told me, now those girls ages 18 felt proud of being a Ernai because they can be rich without hard working. They wear Chanel, take LV bags, go in and out high-class restaurants, and drive good cars.

There is one classmate of mine is actually being one of those "Ernai". I kept the secret for her for more than a year, and finally I found out surprisingly that almost everyone knows that she is Ernai and actually she told everybody:S I started to wonder, why isn't she feel ashamed of being Ernai. The guy is from Singapour and he gave her 10,000RMB(US$1,250)pocket money per month(the average income of a month is around 2,000RMB). Also he bought her expensive bags, Sony laptop, brought her travel in Europe, Sigapour, Hongkong and Malysia. In several months, he'll buy her a Mazda 3.

For me, I actually are not against Ernai, but I think Ernai also should have business ethics. For example, the classmate of mine uses the guy's money to afford her lovers. I think it is wrong, even Ernai should bear loyalty in mind. She also cheated on him, coz she told him that she's a virgin but actually she just had an abortion days ago. I was joking that the guy shall complain to 315 because this Ernai is a fake product")

Well, said pretty much about Ernai. Now I am going to sleep.

Finally, I'd like to wish one of my schoolmate better health, because i got the news that he got blood cancer. Best wishes to him, even if I am not very familiar with him! Bless you!

Experience of Chinese Medicine

Due to the increasing appetite and weight, I had to went to doctors for help to control both my appetite and weight. So today, I went to a hospital famous for chinese traditional treatment and experienced a few chinese medicine treatment such as body acupuncture, jar cupping, and ear acupuncture point. Tomorrow i'll go to the hospital again to get some traditional chinese medicine to assist the therapy. Hope it works:S It does not feel well that so many "needles" on your body, especially it is connected to the electricity. Anyway, I was brave enough because I did not cry or being frightened. It is just so hard to forget about delicious foods!!!

A Brife Report to my recent life

Wave Goodbye to Redbags:(
Give redbags to children is one of our tradtions in Chinese New Year, and I was given for nearly 21 years so far. This year is the last year I receive redbags because I am both engaged and graduated:( So Wave goodbye to my redbags! In several years:(:frown::frown: Oh, no I can not even imagine that! In several years, I'll have to give redbags to children:( I feel so painful in my heart about the money!!! Receiving is always better than giving I guess!

Another Car Accident
My parents came to Nantong for the Chinese New Year this time, and they went back home one day earlier than we do. On their way, their car was hit by another car because the driver was drunk:S The good thing is this time it was not a BMW, it was a small Buick Excelle. Of course the driver again was to blame, however, my father's big Buick Regal had to go to the garage to rest for a few days.

How I spent my Chinese New Year

3rd: My bf's parents came to SH and had lunch together, they went back to NT
4th: Rest all day at home, and my dog bit me on my finger:(
5th: Had dinner with relatives from Italy
