About me

My name is John A. Bilicki III and the bulk of my interest in related to Web Design & Web Development. I am first and foremost a web designer (clientside) though I also program object oriented PHP and use MySQL in regards to databases. I code to the highest standards I can (XHTML 1.1 as application/xhtml+xml, CSS 1.0, 2.1, and 3 per vendor support, insanely dynamic JavaScript). I refuse to use innerHTML, document.write, text/html, and versionless doctypes. I love testing rendering engines and love the DOM!

I'm originally from Hew Hampshire (New England or north-eastern United States) and highly prefer cooler environments. I love to ski and would like to try snowboarding one day. I listen to film and game score (from movies and games), (highly instrumental) electronica, and a little metal (mainly symphonic and some epic doom metal if I could ever find any again).

My work

I'm a self-taught Professional Web Designer & Intermediate OOP PHP/MySQL Web Developer. I learn by working on my website (http://www.jabcreations.com/) by seeing my goals to a live environment that the general public can interact with. I enjoy making my site as backwards compatible (for business purposes) and as cutting edge (as a design enthusiast) while also serving my work as application/xhtml+xml, using AJAX and CSS3 where supported validating against any validator I can find.

I am a fan of Opera though I do use Firefox by default due to several extensions. However I use Opera regularly when working especially for it's awesome JavaScript debugger which will tell me not either the script or the function but the combination thereof. I read the Opera Desktop Team's blog with enthusiasm. Of late I can't wait for Presto 2.3 as it will finally have Vega adding support for critical CSS3 properties that Opera sorely lacks.
