We are always afraid of change.
If anybody is afraid of upgrading to Opera 8.5 fearing that they would lose all the previously saved notes, saved passwords and need to re-download the files for installing voice feature, don't worry. read this post and I hope you will be relieved.
- To use your old bookmarks, Go to File-->Import and Export à Import Opera Bookmarks and select the opera.adr file from your previous installation’s Profile folder
- To use your saved passwords in the previous version (wand), copy the wand.dat file in profiles directory to new installation’s profile directory
- To transfer Notes in previous installation to new installation, copy notes.adr file from profile folder to new installation’s profile folder
To use the voice feature in Opera (if you have installed in the old version), copy the following files from old opera folder to the new opera folder:
E1fkal00.le; E1mkan00.le; ecictts.dll; ecienus.syn ; cissml.dll; en-us.bin prondict.ini; ready.pcm; vxm.dll; vxmconfig.ini; vxmdict_en-us.ini vxmservices.dll; vxmstrings_en-us.ini; vxmplugin.dll (14 files).
