Republishing My Softwares

Several months ago I got an email from someone asking about an old software (a freeware) I made public 5 years ago. Frankly, I was a bit surprised that the software is still used by some people as he told me in his email. Unfortunately, at that time, my old website that host the software has been gone, vanished and caput. And I haven't got the time to dug tens of my harddisk backup CD-ROMs. After a quick hunt on the net, I found a website that still hold the software. I told him the link to the website along with a thank you for using the software.
After some thought, I think I should made the software public and freely downloadable once again. I'm sure someone might still need it. Oh, I almost forgot about the software. It is a tool for VideoCD (VCD) protection. Its purpose is to prevent easy copying the video files into other storage by hiding the files so that the disc can only be played on a standalone VideoCD compatible player. But some video player softwares can still play the disc. Anyway, please read the ReadMe.rtf file in the ZIP file below for more details.
Please note that the software is no longer updated. It is the first and the last version available for public download. Also, both the URL and email addresses mentioned in the software are no longer used. Please post a message to this blog post if you have question(s). I'll try to answer your question(s) as much as I can.

Please tell me which video players can play vcdprot protected vcd on computers.

Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic also have that function, but I haven't tested it myself.
No players can play the protected disc if they require file names. Even though they may have "open drive" or "open disc" functions, their internal workings may actually try to find the video file since VideoCD file names are standardized.

Most (and probably every) European VCD-compatible players respect and follow the ISO standard. So for these players, VCDProt will not be useful. VCDProt was intended for "bad" VCD players that do not follow the ISO standard, which are mostly Asian VCD players.
