I figure I should check out another FreeBSD-based OS other than DesktopBSD just for a point of comparison. FreeSBIE is a live-CD implementation of FreeBSD with an extended toolkit for creating your own implementation. That would be fun if you were a bit geekier than me, I'm sure...

point and click is for people who don't want to bother too much with learning how to use a computer and just want to use it. In other words most of the world's population... if you want to call them all dummies that's up to you. :)

Don't get winamp. Get Media Monkey! Much easier to bulk-edit ID tags, much easier to organise your music. It also rips and burns audio CDs much better than crappy windows media player, which takes forever "preparing" files. Did I mention it's free?
