About me

Inuk, from the tribe of Nunataaq Camp.
Born near Pangnirtung, NWT as it was known at the time.
Did my growing up in and around Pangnirtung. I went to school at the
original Atagoyuk School, the school named after my second name.
The man who was sent to search for a location for a future community,
before any large settlement was formed inside the Cumberland Sound,
and he did this by travelling with a qayak, found the location
in Pungniqtuuq, now Pangnirtung, as spelled by the German Surveyor in the
mid 1900's, and according to his German pronounciation and writing.
I long to visit the place where I was born and where I grew up.
I have since moved to Grise Fiord and live with my wife Geela, with two
beautiful adopted children,son Jason and daughter Jennifer. These two have
given us joy in our lives.

My work

I am a contract worker for the Hamlet of Grise Fiord
and have been since 1995. I have held three jobs since
the position was established. First, as a Municipal Liaison Officer,
Income Support Worker and then a Community Economic Development Officer.
I have helped the Hamlet to hire an ISW and MLO workers to lessen my work load.
Now I can concentrate a little more on the CEDO job, but still work as a backup for both positions. Can't seem to get away from those jobs.
