Diving - clean up style

For the first time in a long time, I did not bring 8kg of camera equipment for a dive trip. Nor did I bring my 16 kg dive bag loaded with all my own gear. Instead I packet very light, headed straight from the office to KLIA LCCT for the flight to KK T2 (excessive use of abbreviations is a result of living in SEA)
This time around, my diving was not about to see beautiful creatures of the deep, big or small. I was in TARP (Tunku Abdul Rahman marine Park) to take part in the Project Aware International Clean Up day (Project Aware), arranged by Borneo Divers. Along with approximately 50 other divers, we collected 700 kilograms of marine debris.
On the first dive, I still managed to see a green turtle, a bonus to the 3/4 full collection back of debris. The most interesting sea creature for the second dive was a flounder living next to a bag of chips I collected
All in all, I had a great time over at TARP and in KK. Sunday I went for the Gaya Street Market, getting my feet massaged by an old, blind man. He and his friends seemed to have a fantastic time - as did I
Later in the afternoon I had a really tasty seafood dinner, grilled squid & red snapper, at the Philippino market with Josephine, who guided me to the best food (and coffee) in town.
Coming back home, a DHL express package was waiting for me. Wrapped in plastic (outside the solid, padded paper envelope) transported by express air mail was a Project Aware rubbish collection bag... I guess I could have waited for surface mail, and would prefer not to have the additional plastic wrapping after spending the weekend collecting just that
I guess coming weekend will be another one on the saddle.... Too much good food, GT's, beer and desserts this weekend - and not much exercise... And Powerman soon coming up
