Roasted - with a sore butt

After spending a rather (read: very) relaxing three weekends in Bangkok, Pangkor Laut and Bali, it felt nice to be back on the saddle again.
Since Thursday was (yet) another public holiday in Malaysia - and nothing else was planned - I ended up completing the Putrajaya - Port Dixon - Putrajaya ride. I had to abandon my last attempt because of three punctures - and running out of rubber
It turned out to be a hot day in the saddle, but also a very nice ride in nice, rolling terrain. (tracked in Sports-Tracker)
As the day progressed and the heat was on - the nice bike tan-lines got a new reddish look. The water bottles lasted shorter and shorter and the average speed dropped quite a lot during the last 45 kilometers (and I really got quite a sunburn on my thighs). Still, Ricardo, Zairin and myself completed the ride, and I spend rest of the day poolside
Saturday started with an early ride (after a looong Friday dinner) from Sri Hartamas to Genting Sempah. This is a ride that I've done a few times before, and it is a really nice route coming up the old road towards Genting through luscious forest. (tracked in Sports-Tracker)
I was struggling keeping up with Ricardo and Marcus in the beginning, my butt felt really sore, and I forgot the drinking bottles
However, reaching the bottom of the climb, and getting some water and coke made me feel a lot better. Quite a lot of riders out there too climbing up. Reached home for a very long breakfast, before spending most of Saturday by the pool
Sunday - woke up feeling really great. Enough sleep, great Saturday evening, and a beautiful sunrise greeting me going over to the meeting point. My first ride with PCC (Pedalholics Cycling Club), riding some very nice, rolling terrain west of Kuala Lumpur. (tracked in Sports-Tracker)
Not to a big surprice - after a long brunch I spent the rest of Sunday afternoon poolside
finishing up the weekend with a sports massage - quite painful at yesterday, a lot better today
Coming weekend I will let the bike get some rest time while I will be taking part in the Project Aware clean up in Kota Kinabalu. Really look forward to go to Kota Kinabalu and Sabah again. Maybe I will even find time to squeeze in some other activities than Gaya Street shopping before returning to KL Sunday evening
