Doormen of New Orleans - Bourbon Street on Halloween

The Doormen of New Orleans - Bourbon Street on Halloween is my favorite photo album. Check it out. The title rhymes... even the title is poetry.

The doormen of New Orleans were there all along to see. Most of us avoid them and look away as we brush past trying not get sucked in. I decided to engage them in the wild pandamonious spectacle of New Orleans on Halloween in the dim light of sundown. The only wilder spectacle is Mardi Gras.

On Bourbon Street, each doorman is unique. Many are grungy, crude, and unpleasant; some are formal or gymnastic wanting your attention. How do they relate to the camera? Some pose cordially or corn-ially, some hide, and others push you away.

The pictures in my album, well yeah---my pictures suck or at least, they are idiosyncratic and perhaps ludicrous; all hype and no action, a hyper blur---kind of like the shows inside behind the doors the doormen guard. Given that, the pictures disappoint, not fulfilling the promise of .... and someone else will most likey steal the idea, do the concept better, have a great show and make lots of money. But remember you saw it here first; the seminal, real, original, raw, raunchy, and blurry version of The Doormen of New Orleans on Bourbon Street on Halloween.
