No Internets and No TV Make Kat Something Something.....

So, moving day is tomorrow, and I'll be packing up my PC tonight. It'll be a couple of days before the DSL and satellite tv get installed... TT_TT So I'll be stuck without the warm glow of the internet to comfort me... Too bad it'll be next week before I start painting the extra rooms... Pics of the moving and stuff to come whenever. I'm so tired... Packing, packing, packing. Still not 100% done. I'm rambling here as a way to procrastinate packing more stuff. But, OMG, the next time will be so much worse... We have a whole house that we'll be filling up. I just want to sleep... But there's another box to fill, and another after that, and another after that, and another... My mind, I think I can feel it slipping away.....

Little boxes....

So, I've been packing. Mostly books and decorations so far, but it's kinda depressing, putting our lives into little boxes....

<sigh>

Companion Cube tissue cover

, , ,

Update: there's a pattern available on GoogleDocs
Or take this .PDF: Weighted Companion Cube Tissue Box Cover.pdf

So, I made this tissue box cover from plastic canvas based on an object from the video game Portal. I posted it to my deviantArt site, and there were almost 100 views within 15 mins.... :hat:

So here it is with some pics of D-chan:

Please notice my super geeky background, not an accident :wink:

D-chan is all like "man, I live with some nerds! =-_-=;;"

Gimme gimme gimme!

There you go. I'll probably be posting a how-to after I make the 2nd one and the matching napkin holder once they're finished.

^_^;;

Yay! New iPod for me!

I'm sitting here waiting for my new black iPod Nano to update. ^_^

It's an early Valentine's gift flirt

I finally don't have to wait for good songs to come up on my shuffle, I can choose the song i want from a list, hooray!

It's taking so long to update! ZOMG hurry up! Bargle!

New Comic Up

I've posted a new comic on my Deviant Art page, click below for the link. I'm going to go lay down now.....

Happy New Year! Art edition

Happy New Year!

Time to post the pieces I gave as gifts over the holidays.

Most of them you'll find over on my DeviantArt page.

But I'm going to post my favorite here. I did this one for my little brother, who enjoyed the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney games. Click for large versions.

It's Phoenix in his classic "Objection!" pose in a floating frame. The "Objection" bubble is held on with magnets. Both it and the background are replaceable:

The background here is a screenshot from one of my brother's racing games.

Phoenix's friends dressed as the background characters from Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

"Blue Badger, I choose you!" Supposed to be like Pokemon... -_-;;

And I'm glad that he enjoyed it, even though he's an angsty teenager P:

Merry Xmas!

We'll be leaving early tomorrow morning to go to Cleveland, so I'm putting up my holiday wished now ^_^

Oh, and, PRESENTS!!!

We went a little overboard this year.. -_-;; That's not even all of them, I still have a few to wrap, then we have to fit them all in the car....

It's going to be a tight fit.

SNOW!

There was a big snow storm yesterday. We had to go out in it, unfortunately. But the sky is blue and beautiful this morning, and there's ice clinging to the window in a lace-like pattern.

But it's very creepy at night, everything is tinted orange. When there is so much snow that you can't see the lake or the building next door, it's not a white-out anymore, it's an orange-out...

Chillingly yours,
Kat

Finally!

A fit of boredom has prompted me to post the images I took while my sisters were in town for the 4th of July this year. There are pics from the Shedd Aquarium, one from the Taste of Chicago Festival, and some from our trip to the Mag Mile and Navy Pier (that was a painful trip... we walked about 1 1/4 miles from Michigan Ave to the end of Navy Pier, AFTER we spent the previous day at the Aquarium & Taste of Chicago -_-;; at least there was a trolly back to the bus stop)

So, check it out here.

Teh Haloz

This year, Robby opted not to join in the midnight launch festivities, and instead preordered Halo 3 online. He waited, with baited breath, for the UPS delivery status screen to load each time he checked (which was about every five minutes...)

Now he has his Precious, including the giant SPARTAIN II helmet.

But, I'll let it go, he took me to a show this weekend. We saw Wicked at the historic Oriental Theater in downtown Chicago. It was very enjoyable, but not as amusing as Robby's reaction: "Wait, the Witch is green?!? Since when?" "Since the 1939 movie." "Wha.....?"

While we were downtown, I finally dragged brought Robby to see the sweet Lego store; he enjoyed it except for the giant Lego spider near the entrance. I still need to upload those pics from July....

Procrastinatingly yours,
Kat
