So colorful!! Is this a real person?

Jurjenjekav Monday, November 22, 2010 10:24:33 PM

I had one or two reference images for the face. But I did add some 'creative freedom' to it smile
I didn't used references for the flowers so they might very well be non existing ones.

Your choice of colors for the flowers is nice, and some of my favorites up

Jurjenjekav Thursday, November 25, 2010 2:53:27 PM

Yes I wanted them to be very colourful. I personally hate the fact the painting is to tight to the top of the canvas, but generally I'm happy about it though.

Didn't even notice till you mentioned it. It probably bugs you to no end lol Perfectionist! p

LOL ... These things happen in the very best-regulated families, as my Dutch grandmother used to say.
Nicely modelled. Oddly, it has a very "New World" look to it, possibly Mexican or South American, but the face is very definitely negroid ... African, I should probably say; old-time physical anthropologists sometimes run afoul of PC thinking.
At any rate, it is quite well-done, but, in addition to running out of space at the top, the whole head should be bigger at the top. In most humans, the eyes are the midline of the head. It took my daughter years to learn that.

Jurjenjekav Sunday, December 12, 2010 11:31:42 PM

I think the new world look is because of the relatively small nose and perhaps also the shape of the eyes. Yes, you are definitely right about the head. Of course the top of her head should have been covered behind flowers, but I didn't want crop the image so to say. I guess that resulted in a head that is too low...
Thanks for your comment smile
