Nigerian Man Found
With Human Body Parts
Men and officers of the
Nigeria Security and Civil
Defence Corps (NSCDC),
Kwara state command
have arrested a man with
human parts in Omu Aran,
the headquarters of
Irepodun Local
Government Area of the
state.
Parading the suspect in
Ilorin , the state
commandant NSCDC, Al-
Hassan Audu Akor, said
the suspect, Ibrahim
Abubakar, was arrested
with some human parts,
part of which was that of
a kidnapped okada rider,
John Olalekan.
The civil defence boss,
who said the corps acted
on the report of the
missing okada rider in
Omu Aran, added that
intelligence and
surveillance work led to
the arrest of Abubakar.
He said Abubakar, who
claimed to be a herbalist
and cattle rearer, is a
Fulani of Yoruba stock
from Ilorin, but lived in
Omu Aran, adding that
the victim hailed from
Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State, not
far from Omu Aran.
The NSCDC commandant
said that a search party
was constituted after the
report of the missing
okada man on 26 March
26, adding that the
corpse of the okada man
was found in a bush
behind Government
College, Omu Aran on 28
March, with head, hand
and private parts already
dismembered from the
body.
He said further
investigation led to the
arrest of the herbalist in
his house around 8.00 am
on Monday, 2 April where
human parts already cut
into pieces and roasted
were found in his
custody.
He said among the items
also recovered in the
suspect’s house include
two locally made rifles
and charms.
The NSCDC boss, who said
the suspect initially tried
to deny involvement in
the crime, added that the
suspect told the officers
of the corps that the
human parts were those
of a monkey brought to
him by one of his friends.
Akor, however, said that
an examination
conducted on the items at
Omu Aran General
Hospital certified that
they are human parts.
The NSCDC commandant,
who described the case as
culpable homicide, added
that the suspect had been
handed over to police.
He, therefore, enjoined
members of the public to
always volunteer useful
information to security
agencies, adding that the
security situation in the
country is a challenge to
every one. May God help us.
