Winterization of Your Boat

Marine wrapping involves creating Vinyl wraps or stick-ons of various sizes, and the special installing procedure ensures that no glue residue remains when you decide to peel off the old wrap and, maybe add a new one. The painting in the boat hull region is not damaged in the process, and changing wraps is as simple as peeling the old, and sticking on the new.
While boat lettering etc may make up the bulk of such jobs, marine wrap advertising is a very effective way of advertising your product or event. Assuming that your boat is docked in your garage when not in use, it is clear that you will need to tow the boat to the water with the help of another vehicle.
If you prepare early enough, the time and effort will increase your boat's performance and certainly will save you money come spring.
Check out your boating insurance because they may not cover neglect or lack of maintenance. The best place for your boat in the winter is in a storage area, out of the water and in a climate controlled area. This can be very expensive, but if you cannot afford it than you can wrap your boat. This is going to take time and you need to make sure that it is well covered with a tarp.
Create a checklist of everything that you need accomplished on your boat. Check the owner's manual or even hire a professional to help you take care of getting everything in order. Here is a generic idea of your checklist. Do not go solely by this, again make sure you do your research with a professional or your owner's manual.
Checklist:
Inboard Engine- run the engine and change the oil while it is warm, change the oil filters, and flush the engines with fresh water.
Stern Drive- Inspect the stern drive and remove any plant life or barnacles from a lower unit. Drain the gear case and check for excessive moisture in the oil. Clean the lower unit with soap and water, check cracks or pinholes and grease all fittings.
Outboard Engine- Flush the engine with fresh water using flush muffs or device attached to the raw pickup. Wash engine down with soap and water.
Fuel- Fill your fuel tanks, add fuel stabilizer by following instructions and change filters and water separators. Please consult your owner's manual or professional on how to handle your fuel with the process.
Use oil in cylinders on your boat to lubricate walls and pistons. Apply resistant grease to propeller shaft and threads. Lightly lubricate the exterior of the engine or polish with wax.
You need to disconnect the battery cables and remove the battery from the boat. Clean the terminal ends and battery with a solution of baking soda and water. Store the battery in a cool dry place and use a charger to keep battery charged. Do not charge a battery near an open flame.
You also need to take care of bilges, fresh water system, head, interior of your boat. Again, make sure that you are looking online, get a professional or look at your owner's manual to get a complete checklist of what to do while during the winter for your boat.
