My OperaHow Opera Mobile helped me treat my friends to dinner

It seems I have fallen in love with the mobile browser! I was at the Soul Shop (a small resto near abs-cbn) yesterday and met some friends for some small chit chat when I noticed that the area has free wifi access. Since I didn't bring my laptop I told myself "maybe next time I'll bring it". Then I remembered my Nokia E61 can do wlan so I pulled it out and checked email via Opera Mobile and even did some RSS.
Soon after we had some light dinner, I offered to pay the bill but I didn't have enough cash on hand but I have my credit card. However, I didn't know how much credit I had left because I made a huge puchase a few weeks ago which has yet to be settled before the end of the month. I could have called my card company but that would be a hassle; I could have done an SMS inquiry but I couldn't remember the query strings and the number to send.
But I have web access and a complete web browser so I could inquire online!
So that's what I did, opened up Opera Mobile, went to my card's website and did my online inquiry. In less than 5 minutes I knew I could still treat my friends which I did.
