In SQL, why not?
-- class sums
SELECT conjugacy class, sum(g)
FROM group algebra CG
GROUP BY conjugacy class
OK. The class sums are a basis of the center of the group algebra. Will check out later where this all leads to. I have started reading on Character Tables. ( Not feeling fit, I don't like Saturdays. )
