My work

am work with catholics charities organization in new Orleans LA. i was here after the Katrine Hurricane in 29th august 2005. i was here for helping as assistant officer then, but after sometimes i became counseling officer on hiv/aids and child abuse.with my mission and target. am working towards:
1 - Counselling is ongoing at a counselling unit where people are taught the modes of transmision and prevention as well as assess individual's risk of contacting the virus. People are encouraged to make positive choices.
2 - Homebased Care and Support of PLWHA is being introduced. A support group has been set up due to more PLWHAs being identified by the counsellors.
3 - Advocacy visit - Opinion leaders in the community and church groups are visited to support HIV/AIDS activities in the church and community.
4 - IEC Material development and distribution - This includes information on key issues on HIV/AIDS to aid prevention and encourage care and support of PLWHA.
5 - Awareness talks and Campaigns targeted at different segments of the Church(the leaders men, women and youth) as well as selected leaders of other Christian denominations within the goegraphic coverage of
the Diocese.
6 - Capacity building of project staff on program management and church members on HIV/AIDS issues.
