About me

I'm an honest, good-looking professional and I enjoy what I do -- I create online training --
and look at life as a journey, not a destination (as cliche as that is, it is true) and want to experience it with someone who is open to and will encourage me to explore new experiences and adventures and wants someone there to experience it with him.

I'm looking for friends and a partner to talk politics, art, and current events (and you don't have to agree with me; disagreement is how I grow, makes me examine what I believe), someone who will challenge me to do the unexpected. Go on a hiking trip to a place we've not gone to before to camp for a weekend.

My partner wants to build a life together, not just share a house; he will stand by my side, give me advice, let me fail, and expects the same from me. Dennis Leary's character in "Rescue Me" said, "Gay guys have it great....its all blow-jobs and ball games." I'm looking for more than that in a partner. Having fun is important -- crucial -- but building a life requires more commitment than that and my partner knows that, too.

We need to have similar interests, but not necessarily the SAME interests:
I’m involved with a Peace and Justice group, an ecology group, and some political groups; I am working on a community garden in Elgin that will help supply the local food pantries with in-season fruits and vegetables.

I spend a lot of time with my friends, my brother and two nephews (when they aren't off being teenagers) , my son -- when he's around from college, and in my vegetable garden (there's nothing better than eating food that I've grown on my own land). On a rainy day, I enjoy sitting back and watching a good movie on TV, and watching a series where the characters evolve and stories are engaging, the same things I like in a book.

I like to bike around my area (we have a great trail by the Fox River) and hiking in the great natural areas around here. When the mood strikes me, I like to go into Chicago and find new and interesting places.

I’m looking to try to live in a more ecologically symbiotic manner. I have an interest in green energy, using less water and using it more wisely, and being kinder to the environment, treating our food animals with dignity. I would like to try to live in a way where I provide for myself on a farm, on which I grew up in Southern Illinois.
