What Was She Thinking?!

Someone hold my drink while I climb down off my soapbox.

Love and Other Silliness

, ,

Here are some great movie lines. Sprinkled among them are some really sappy ones too. I'll leave you to decide which is which. Let me know if I've left your favorite off the list! wink

Oh, poor creatures. They've lost their equilibrium because they've lost their faith in love. Oh l'amour, l'amour.

Countess de Lave [Mary Boland] (The Women, 1939)

Everything seems like nothing to me now, 'cause I want you in my bed. I don't care if I burn in hell. I don't care if you burn in hell. The past and the future is a joke to me now. I see that they're nothing. I see they ain't here. The only thing that's here is you - and me.

Ronnie Cammareri [Nicolas Cage] (Moonstruck, 1987)

I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

Harry Burns [Billy Crystal] (When Harry Met Sally, 1989)

Those toenails dry yet, sweetheart? We got some dancin' to do.

Sailor [Nicolas Cage] (David Lynch's Wild at Heart, 1990)

Say it again, it keeps me awake. "I love you."

Alicia [Ingrid Bergman], Devlin [Cary Grant] (Notorious, 1946)

Now that was when people KNEW how to be in love. They knew it! Time, distance... nothing could separate them because they knew. It was right. It was real.

Annie Reed [Meg Ryan] (Sleepless in Seattle, 1993)

You know, Bud; pride is one of those seven deadly. I almost lost Corrine and the kids before I got a throat big enough to swallow mine. It choked some goin' down, but I realized that without her and them kids I'd just be another pile of dog shit in the canteloupe patch.

Uncle Bob [Barry Corbin] (Urban Cowboy, 1980)

Paul, I think I'm gonna be a lousy wife. But don't be angry with me. I love you very much -- and I'm very sexy!

Corie Bratter [Jane Fonda] (Barefoot in the Park, 1967)

Do you have any reaction at all to my telling you I love you? "I was just inches from a clean getaway."

Aurora Greenway [Shirley Maclaine], Garrett Breedlove [Jack Nicholson] (Terms of Endearment, 1983)

It's amazing, Molly. The love inside, you take it with you.

Sam Wheat [Patrick Swayze] (Ghost, 1991)

Day 9I'd Do Him...

How about a few classics from Love, Actually:

Let's go get the shit kicked out of us by love!--Sam (Thomas Sangster)

I am a classic fool!--Harry (Alan Rickman)

As major cock-up would have it, it turns out that you... are the love of my life. So, let's get pissed and watch porn.--Billy Mack (Bill Nighy)

To me, you are perfect--Mark (Andrew Lincoln)

It was Joni Mitchell who taught your cold hearted British wife to feel--Karen (Emma Thompson)

We need Kate. We need Leo and we need them now!" Daniel (Liam Neeson)

And no, I don't have the entire movie memorized...these are just a few of my favorite lines. I have watched it several times, usually when I get the idea that life sucks in some small way. Then I hear the opening lines in the movie, from Hugh Grant... "Love, Actually, is all around." and suddenly the world starts to seem brighter. By the end of the movie, I am convinced there is someone for everyone and faith in mankind is restored.

Love means never having to say you're sorry. (Love Story 1970)

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. (Gone With the Wind 1939)

Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine. (Casablanca 1942)

and for some sappiness...

You had me at "hello." (Jerry MaGuire 1996)

I like the one about the reaction and the gateway...!!!

Also the losey but sexy gilr...

Writter Juan Rulfo wrote in "Un pedazo de Noche"..."I prefer you in dreams because we can make it all, not as now that we have done e nothing.."
translation from : "Me gustas más cuando te sueño porque entonces si podemos hacer todo, no como ahora que no hemos podido hacer nada"

Talking about desire and dreams, I feel it so Freudian...
What do you think ?
