What Was She Thinking?!

Someone hold my drink while I climb down off my soapbox.

Oh, the Night Life.. Ain't no Good Life.. But it's My Life.

Some changes afoot in my corner of the world, but have been too busy to blog about it. Recently I was given an opportunity to change my work schedule -- rather drastically. And I jumped on it. I've joined my law firm's Night Staff. It's a small group, just four of us secretaries and the supervisor. The hours are perfect for me: Monday through Friday I work from 5PM to 12:30AM. Saturdays and Sundays I work from 10AM to 5:30PM. Those are the tougher days; the other days feel like I have vacation because my days are free. Free to take Robert to the doctor when necessary without worrying about using all my vacation days. Free to grow my web design business and field client calls during "normal business hours." Days off are staggered. This week I had Wednesday and Thursday off; next week I will have Thursday and Friday, and so forth. Every blue moon I have three days in a row off! Best of all, my six weeks of vacation can be used for exactly that: vacation. We've actually been talking about planning a trip next year. I think these hours will work out great!

Yeah, that's the only downside. But with the six days on and two days off rotation, I end up getting a couple of weekends off during the year and even three days in a row off on occasion. Having my DAYS free is worth it all, tho! :-)
