Help-Less

I'm taking my CSS/HTML Help Forum down. And here's why. Now some of you may be thinking, why is she letting one person's attitude spoil it for everyone else? I don't expect anyone to kiss my ass here, but goddammit, if I'm helping you, don't slap my face. It's that simple. Life is too short, and I have too much else going on, to stress myself out over the boorishness of one person. Put another way, I won't put up with crap from paying clients; I am not going to countenance it from total strangers.
I will always help out my friends here (and you few people well know who you are), but as far as devoting time to helping with coding and design, well, I've got a web design business, so if you really want help, you can hire me. But when it stops being fun, that's when I quit doing it. The banners will still be available for download, tho, in my albums here and elsewhere, just as they have been before. I'm just taking down all the stuff that was on the forum.

But if you are just a bit like me - and I´m a bit of a hothead - you just might consider this:
Who decides that you should shut down right now? Is it you - or is it the guy who´s pissed you off? Are there other options?
When I have had the consideration to ask myself that sort of questions - I have sometimes found other solutions, that I´ve been glad I did, and I have sometimes turned my back to the whole mess, which I was glad I did, too.
But I have regretted being too hasty once or twice.
I hope you don´t mind my saying so. I mean well

I certainly sympathize with you though. The number of people who take more than they give, act discourteously, and in various ways show little regard for others in the blogosphere is alarming.
But Allan's also got a point. You are under no obligation to help those who displease you and can simply ignore them. If this jerk's actions are going to stop you doing something you really want to do, then he's won.
On the other hand, if you continue doing what you want to do and give him the old heave-ho along the way, then you've won.
But as you are running the show, it is entirely up to you & you must judge the balance between the pleasure and the hassle.

Joni, I simply don't get it. You are waisting your time, getting pissed! Then writing about it, getting even more pissed. If you want to get pissed about everything from Nigerian spam to people just being plain stupid, then you'll waste oceans of time. I guess it's just an outlet of some kind, so maybe you're not waisting your time after all...
If you really thought you were wasting time, you just blocked the guy and thrashed the Nigerian spam. You only encourage people by answering them and writing about them, especially Nigerian (or whatever) spammers, who just love to get the information you give them by answering...
I got a mail from some lawyer like person, who said I should take down my post brain-something, because it was their trade mark! I neeeeeaaarly got pissed and neeeeaaarrrly answered them in a witty and sarcastic way, and then I cooled off and realized, it was exactly what they wanted, this was just another scam... spam, bam...
We are waisting time writing about this.

So now I waste time by wondering if realize is with z or s...
One sure way of wasting time is waiting on the Opera servers. There's waisting time for you!
