Pacific Ocean - At Last!
Sunday, June 25, 2006 5:25:04 AM
From: Cusick, WA
To: Seattle, WA
Miles: 347
MPG: 49.2
Leaving the eastern Washington early (because really, why would one want to hang out there much longer), we went straight across Washington to Seattle. Our first stop in town: Pike’s Place Market. Rather touristy (especially the guys throwing fish around), but the street performers were entertaining.

Late in the afternoon we went over to see Alix, a friend of ours from Jessica’s Peace Corps days in Slovakia. Planning on going out that night for Thai food and enough wine to make us forget about all the grime we had just sloughed off our bodies, we revisited junior high days and bummed a ride from Alix’s dad. (Though unlike junior high days, we were not heading for the mall and were not, thankfully, sporting acid washed jeans.)

We ended the night at a terrific wine bar – just the place to get us in the mood for the next day’s trip out to the Yakima Valley (part of Washington state’s wine country).
