Journey to Dani

Today was a relaxing day...we toured the Changsha Provincial museum. It was filled with ancient artifacts found from a dig that discovered the burial of an Emperess. It was one of the most significant finds in Chinese history not just because of the items they found, but the fact that the Emperess was preserved so perfectly. Her skin still soft to the touch after 2000 years. After that we had the afternoon off, so we ventured out and walked around the city for a bit. We're getting used to the stares. All of the girls seem to be adjusting much better now. Here's a few pics. A strange and interesting thing about China, is that you can see so much poverty and simple life, and then turn a corner and see this...




yep! That's McDonald's on the right. The only English word for miles. This is downtown Changsha every night. I was in awe the first night...still am. A city of millions you've probably never heard of, and it's lit up like Times Square every night, filled with people, and the craziest traffic you've ever seen. This next pic is the front of our hotel...yep, it's rough staying at the Dolton.



Here's Lynette and Bill...our translator and guide...have I explained who Bill is? If I have humor me. He's the in-China Staff member for Sunny Ridge. He's the Man! Bob, the one I mention more often, is from Sunny Ridge and is the head of the China program. Bob has been here 36 times. Honorary Uncle to over 900 girls from China. We're in good hands.
