A Hearty Voyage

Ah, and another voyage to the great state of New York and back was a success. It was half awesome and half boring. I WILL TELL-A JOO DEH AWESOME PART, since my brain is producing more seratonin than necessary. Hokay. It was 4 hours up there. We arrived just before dark. Planned just as Mom wanted it to be. Awesomeness. We chilled there, getting to know my cousins, which I haven't really talked to in years. They're still awesome.

The next day, we went to the flea market. It was an interesting little place. There was hardly anything that caught my interest. I did walk out with Rush Cronicles. Two beautiful CD's of one of the best old time rock bands. I almost got Resident Evil: Code Veronica, but I decided the better to buy it new. I was happy. After that, we did something that wasn't worth remembering because I really don't remember it. After that block of no memory, we ran over to my uncles new girlfriends hizzouse for an alleged Bar-B-Que. Well, that was boring...Those people were STRANGE. The only person I thought was cool was an 84 year old Greek woman named Helen. She was a spitting image of my mom had my mom been 40 years older...and Greek. The other people were.......uncomfortable to be around... Let's leave it at that...I didn't eat there, nor had I eaten all day for that matter. Mom knew I was starving and we were both zonked out from bordem. She got up and asked where the book store was and we listened. Pulled out and headed up the street. Barnes & Noble. All you local people have no idea how great that book store is. I found myself running on no energy of ANY kind, staring at the bindings of Photoshop and Macromedia books. A couple minutes later, looking for a CD. Well...I was a zombie when I found Mom looking at magazines across the store. She knew I needed food. Damn my self-discipline. We left and headed down the road to a Subway where which I ate a 12" sub faster than Mom could make an order. Oooooooooh food...I missed it so at that moment. One of the major reasons why I went to Buffalo aside from seeing the best part of the family was to gain more security about myself for when I get home. Well, I wanted to walk the streets of Buffalo at night. Anyone who's been there knows very well that you better be armed before you do that shit. My uncle thought of this great idea to go walking around 11:30 that night to throw old bread at the birds at KMart. I didn't suggest a thing. He grabbed his keys and the bread. My cousins called him and I insane for wanting to go out at this time of night without any means of protecting ourselves. I went with just the car keys. We walked a pretty good distance and arrived at a pitch black parking lot, only to find that the day he comes prepared to feed the birds that they're not there. So we crossed this pitch black parking lot, taking notice we were in the middle of the ghetto. Walked a few back streets, the main road, and past a gang. We had NOTHING to protect us. I had money in my pocket and, as everyone knows, I'm a rather small gent when it comes to weight. My uncle isn't anything close to intimidation, so it was us two walking alone on the very dangerous streets of ghetto Buffalo. We came back and I pulled my Rush CD's out of my car, joking with my uncle and making it look like I was picking the locks on the car.

That walk was exactly what I needed and you may call me crazy, but I am one paranoid, quiet and nervous person in public. If you can walk the streets of Buffalo at night with confidence and without worry, you seriously have mental security. 5 minutes into the walk and it worked...Now I'm a lot more outgoing and hardly get nervous. This is my testamony to the deadly streets of Buffalo. lol (A little reminicent of Thurdays ><)

Yesterday was a half-awesome day. The first part started off pretty boring, thus I don't remember it. I learned a new game, though. It's called Bochy Ball err something. It was interesting...three gay guys played with us...and after a few minutes, I felt like I needed red meat and watch a football game...I only played one game before I got uncomfortable and bored. It's simple, really. You throw this little ball called a Pillata or....Pilate err something across a rectangular court, which is about 35 feet across and 10 wide. It is supposed to land after the half way mark, but before the three quarters mark. The team that throws also picks up a much larger ball and throws it at the little golf ball thing to start the default whatever. The next team throws...or rolls...their ball to see if they can get closer. The team that gets closest wins. As you can tell, I really didn't like it enough to pay attention.

The cousins had to go back to their moms house...they weren't too excited about that. We bid our au deurs and watched them ride off into the sunset. When my uncle came back, it was off to Hooters! Oh yeah! We picked up one of his friends, who was the coolest person next to my uncle I met during the whole trip. The Hooters was on a main road. The same road we went to Subway and Barnes & Noble at the previous day. We walked in, greeted by of course a lusty young woman in skanky clothing. Typical Hooters clothing. p My uncle and I had a ton of fun. We were being quite perverted. I was rather satisfied that I could get an adult 30 years older than me to laugh more than a kid 6 years younger than me. Actually, I got both of them laughing up the storm. Mom expected everything I said, so the effect wasn't that great on her. We ordered our food and Mom took me over to their display of clothing. I saw a lot of t-shirts that I see people wear at school. Well, I didn't want a t-shirt. If I'm in New York, I WILL show off where I was born. I don't give a shit how much it costs and I ain't travelling 4 hours for a damn t-shirt a half hour away from where I was born. So, I settled for the $40 hoodie. bigsmile My first hoodie! Where has it been all my life?!?! Mom provoked me to get a picture with the Hooters girls. Well, I did it. And I dragged my uncle with me. His friend went separately and we ALMOST got Mom to go. Oh, and they have the most awesomest cheese fries, man. After that, we went to Wegmans to raid the codoments aisle. If you're New Yorker, you've heard of Webers mustard. That stuff is awesome and it's a necessity purchase on every trip. Then we dropped my uncles friend off. Then went back to his hizzouse and watched a bunch of black and white horror films. Then went to sleep. Well...semi-sleep.

Today, I got up at around 10:30, packed up my cell phone, threw my hoodie back on and packed the car. We spent the whole day going places with my uncle. We drove up to Niagra Falls (where I was born and where I will one day live at) to check out how it's been. That city is gorgeous! Oh, I love it there! So proud to say I was born there. Then we drove around through Syracuse a little, then to a pizza place Mom used to visit when she lived up there. It's called Pizza Plant. It's awesome. Just reading the menus is hilarious. My uncle hit on the hostess, which was funny. I ordered a medium pizza all to meself and they ordered something that doesn't matter to me. I "accidentally" dumped the parmesan cheese shaker all over my pizza, which I found out a few minutes later that everyone in that family LOVES parmesan pizza. It was a very funny lunch. I tried to get the waitress to give us another shaker by telling her of our accident with ours. It didn't work. We dropped my uncle off at home, said our good byes, and headed out to the highway. We got home a lot later than we expected, because we were tempted to stop at the Blossom Music Center to watch Aerosmith in concert, had we not blown our money in NY. We would've went, too! Mom also missed our exit, so it changed things.

Oh, catch the irony in this. As soon as I started bringing the weekend back to mind, Billy Joel started on my shuffled Winamp playlist with New York State of Mind. A little bit of useless info.

We did manage to walk in the door at 7 and I was on the computer at 7:02, talking to Stephanie. I'm thinking of where to go this Friday with her. A new coffee shop opened downtown before I left on the NY venture. It is a definite that we'll go there. I want to go somewhere else besides that, but I can't think of anywhere! UGH!!!! I want to see her!!! I miss her so much already. Maybe I can get her to come over this week. I dunno.

It's been a fun weekend. I really want to see Steph. Friday is too far away to wait. Must think of something. *sigh* Well, I'm off to pace in thought, like insomnia only allows me to do.
