Celebrated Independence

This was The. Best. Independence Day. EVER. bigsmile

Woke up around 11-12:30...insomnia was a bitch. Clambered out of bed, trying not to pass out on the floor. Gained some sense, booted up the computer, typed in me password, surfed a little. Went upstairs, said hi to Mom. She attempted to make a drink for me. Coffee, milk, sugar and ice...straight coffee is nasty. I'm the drinker of every coffee product but coffee, so it was a failed attempt. Grabbed some pizza from yesterday and came back to the computer for a few hours. Changed into some more presentable clothing. Mom, other adult authority figure, and sister went to Lowe's...so they say.

I wanted to arrive at Steph's house by 5:30, so I can be with Steph a little before everyone else showed up for the cook out. Well, instead of that, I said hi to her parents, a few of her sisters friends, and of course the wonderful Stephanie. The house was extremely HOT and HUMID. Very uncomfy and everyone showed it. After we all said our intros and whatnot, we started running things back and forth to the garage and house. "Steph" was a very common thing said. My girl was running all over for her dad to get the cook out underway. I followed her, since I felt uncomfortable around people I didn't know. I came half asleep anyhoo, so it was pretty alright to run around. I ended up helping her dad with a few things. Soon, the calling died down and Steph and I found ourselves babysitting a couple kids in the basement. It was fun! Finally got a moment to be with Steph without interruptions...besides the kids wanting to know how to work a few toys. Ever had one of those moments where you look at your girl, she looks back. No stress in her face, just a little fatigue. She gives a smile, you smile back...and everything in the world magically seems alright? And for comic relief, someone walks in and says something which scrambles your thoughts. Well, all that happened. smile

After about a good 45 minutes, the we were called for more running around. We ate after a LONG while. I had a gigantic hot dog and a coke. Another comical moment happened just before we ate. I was standing in the garage with my arm around Steph, who stood next to me when her dad turned around and said, "Get your haaaand off my daughter." I moved my arm and Steph looked at me and laughed, kissed me and said, "Poor Josh!" I'm still not sure their kind of humor, so it's still mostly movement with barely anything said. I'm learning.

After we ate, we helped clean up. More running errands for her dad. Then it was to the courtyard to gather everyone so we could walk up to the high school for fireworks. Everyone ready and off we went. We got to the school's main drive when her dad asked us if Steph and I could stay behind to look out for someone who fell back on our quest. Finally, Steph and I had time to ourselves. We stood in place, arms wrapped, awaiting the figures of two people and a little dog. No such luck for a good half hour when her mom called us back and told us that those two stayed back at the park and didn't bother telling us that they were going to do so. We found our way to her dads spot, made base on one of the blankets laid out, laid down next to eachother.

The fireworks were good. Better than most I've seen, anyways. Afterwards, I received another one of those smiles from Steph, stood up, brushed off, gave and recieved kisses, Stood close while the last blanket was being folded. Walked back past the herd of leaving people, got in the house, got comfortable. Kissed a lot more, hopped on the computer. She showed me a game called Alice that struck my attention when it was first released. It's a very nightmarish version of Alice in Wonderland. She loaded the game, took her hands off the mouse and keyboard and told me she wants to watch me play. The game was spiffy! Ran on the Quake III engine. It was third-person, nightmarish, and like Super Mario on LSD. While I was playing, Stephanie watched me, kissed me a lot, commented a couple times, pointed out the key to climb up, kissed me a few more times. I got irritated with a part of the game. She laughed. I turned and kissed her.

She went to the bathroom and I siezed the opportunity to close the game and sit on a chair in the living room. Her cousin and Renee were pretty interesting. Steph came back and I followed her after a few good laughs with the two on the couch. She went to the dining room, turned a night light on in the corner by the kitchen, turned the main light off, grabbed my hand and headed for the far, darkest corner of the room. We laid down and decided to sleep. After a while, my left arm got numb and started hurting, so I got uncomfortable on the side Steph wasn't on. Started fidgeting around, while trying to sleep at the same time. She opened her eyes first, then mine popped open to be greeted by her. She kissed me, called me goofy. p Which I am. Her sister made a very pathetic attempt to scare us. She stood on my ass, man! The pain! I was lying on my stomach and she just jumps right up! OUCH! I kept silent. She got off after a few seconds and we stood up, brushed off. Her dad said it was time to take me home...This happened around 1 only because of a conversation that he had with my alleged father figure. ARG!!! It always ends too soon. Steph and I kissed, still pretty much zombies from running around. Walked out to her van, came home. Kissed good night. She asked if I would sleep well, I nodded. She said she'll definitely sleep well.

Said good bye. I came in the house, said hi to everyone, who pretty much noticed at a glance that I was friggin tired. Told them a summary of all this, discussed my birthday with Mom. The original plan she thought of was to waste a day in a hotel in Canada. Then she changed it to Cedar Point. I don't even know if I will enjoy myself, having never ridden a roller coaster. That's what SHE wants. Not me. I want to sit at home with Stephanie and watch the day go by. I also want a couple computer upgrades. She got mad when I nicely declined the offer to Cedar Point. Why waste the money? So she tried the guilty thing and said we'll just set up some little thing here on the Sunday before my birthday. It really didn't impact me negatively. I was relieved. If it were up to me to pick where to go, it would be Dave and Busters, baby!!!

Well, one hour later, and here I am. Nothing new and really exhausted. Sleep won't be just a concept tonight. I'm off.
